The other name? Eridani.

Don't ask. Or maybe do. At least I'll get an opportunity to look like an idiot.

I don't get it. What's wrong with Eridani?

I'm thinking of rolling an elf next. Probably going to name her Adaia since that was my main Warden's name which he took from his mother.

Try saying it. It just doesn't... flow right.

Arianne sounds much, MUCH better.

And there's this one other reason, more or less the source of the name, that helped it feel ultimately off, and... WEIRD.

Can I add my voice to those asking to use spoiler tags if discussing the ending and major plot points? I've spoiled myself on a few things but I've managed to avoid exact details. I'm an explorer at heart and there's a hell of a lot to explore in this game, so I doubt I'll be done with my first playthrough before Christmas. My prediction of 2-300 hours is looking like a good one at the moment.

I made Sera some armor with a fade-touched obsidian. That guard! It's really the 'you'll never die again' item. Sweet!

Put the bit that gives a 10% chance of 'hidden blades' (i think its called that? the assassin talent that delivers a flurry of hits?)  in to her weapon masterwork slot for a Sera who not only never dies but tears apart anyone all by her lonesome :D

I've been looking for a decent bow schematic to craft for Sera but so far no luck. I think the best thing I have right now is the DLC bow (Superb Dragon Bow).

I'm using the bow you can buy from Bonny Whatshername. Seems decent enough.

Yeah I haven't found anything better than tier 2 stuff yet, either. I want to make Sera "I Aim to Misbehave MkII" but I'm not doing it until I find better schematics. I guess what I need to do is advance the plot a little...

Gotta love how all the people from the UK use the term "Mk.II"...

Such a typical one :)

(Everywhere I look upon designations, the British seem to favor "Mark XYZ" and just adding a higher number... The Americans, on the other hand, just love their alphabet.)

(On a completely unrelated note, I heard some people may be offended if you call them British, but they're not from England itself...?)

Scots, mainly, at the moment. Those who favoured independence from Britain.

That's what I heard. Well, I guess "from the UK" is still politically correct, at the very least.

Just gotta be sure you don't refer to them as such when it's just them, I s'pose.

They're British whether they like it or not. Been that way for years. And clearly, they are in the minority otherwise now, they'd be using their own currency.

Still, what I know about Scots, you really don't want to ****** them off.

So, yeah. Better safe than sorry, I say.

Yeah I will go with Roman numerals, like my most favourite plane ever, the Supermarine Spitfire. Such a beautiful thing considering its deadly purpose.

As Poodle says, some Scots and Welsh will not appreciate being called British, but I doubt that anyone will get really mad about it, since it's technically true.

Side note: Does anyone else get strong Geneva vibes from Val Royeaux?

Spoiler

Edit: Northern Ireland is not part of Britain. Brainfart.

She sure is. Everything possible to put Sera off apart from being male. ;)

One thing I cannot fault the Scots for, IRN BRU! That is a beverage brewed by builders in basements.

I see :)

I'm so used to having a two-rogue party (I MAY have had a Queen Cousland playthrough where she was a Sword and Boarder and still kept Alistair in, however...) that it didn't even feel off. From the start, I actually had two archers, a mage and a tank (The usual Warrior/Mage/Dual Rogue thing, hehe).

It wasn't until In Hushed Whispers that Arianne began to use daggers... partially because I needed a melee fighter for that particular quest.

The whole bow and arrows thing also suited her background as a Dalish Hunter.

And she was a mighty good shot with a bow before she became the Herald and later the Inquisitor!

So good she in fact solo hunted down a Druffalo right after they let her out of the village!

Uh... booze... yeah... that's... something I'm not really... knowledgeable... in.

I've always been a two mage, one rogue, one sword/board warrior party kind of guy. This means that poor old Varric, Cole and Bull aren't getting much screen time. I suppose I could respec Bull as sword/board but it just feels wrong...
