On topic, this is like a discussion of how to solo a level 20 dragon with level 3 Sera.

I'll take them odds. ALL ON BLACK!

the pincer is when you hit from one area then flank them right

Pincer is...

No that's just...flanking :P Pincer is basically same thing though, you just hit both flanks at the same time and ideally the rear too.

Yeah...

The example I gave, Hannibal, used the Pincer movement by retreating away from the romans whilst his cavalry moved to flank them. Which is what Serza described.

Well, he did fall back, but he partially enveloped the enemy (or fully? I don't know about that particular battle) and then comitted in a regular fight.

That is very true. But I've never read The Art of War, so I'll pick my battles dependent on how big my balls feel.

See, I never read The Art of War by Sun Tzu, but some stuff is just logical.

Also, years of experience in ArmA. When in doubt, fall back and empty your magazine later. Into unsuspecting enemy.

It's a huge part of my modus operandi. To never let the enemy predict my location and always be on my toes. Works like a charm whenever it's actually a PvP scenario.

This is neither the Punic wars nor the A-Team. They can't scratch a Minbari cruiser whatever tactics they use. The only time one was destroyed by Earth Force was by a nuke hidden in an asteroid, and the Minbari aren't going to be falling for that trick again.

Nor are they going to let Sheridan forget that in the Minbari's war of genocide against all humanity, it was somehow highly unsporting of the humans to lure in their attackers with a distress call knowing that they'd be shown no mercy, only to reveal it was a trick that involved a nuke... then again, given how the war started, over-reacting tends to be the Minbari's hat.

I don't know how we got onto B5, but now this is making me want to start rewatching it again. I only got to the start of Series 2 before I stopped watching, as the channel that was airing the episodes suddenly disappeared off my freeview package. :pinched:

But back to more Dragon Age topics, how about Cullen's "freeview package?"

(Since asking that about Sera given her romance scene seems like it'd go in a very NSFW direction)

He never commit to the fight. The Romans surrendered when they realised they were surrounded.

Now THAT... is the true Art of War.

Anyway, did anyone find a merchant selling Dales Loden Wool? I swear, that thing is NOWHERE now that I want it.

I'm not sure. I found a few pieces in Emerald Graves. I think that could be the only place it is found in any real quantity.

That's basically what it advises, well the first advice is to be so good that your enemy simply won't fight you, but if you can't manage that fight like you said. It's also what a lot of aces say about air combat, sneak up behind the enemy, hit them as hard as you can, then run away.

Notably not an option in DA's tactical combat.

:D

One last off-topic bit from me, Babylon 5 was the first show on tv that I can remember that had an openly bisexual character in it (Cmdr. Susan Ivanova) and as such it will always have a special place in my heart :) That, and it still kicks butt of most everything on tv now ;)

And on-topic: Anyone have a link to Cassandra/Sera banter clip handy? I had both of them in my party the entire game and the amount of banter between them can be counted with the fingers of one hand :(

Really, I've had quite a few.

They play a game of guess the place (Cassandra isn't very good and goes on for a few banters)

Sera asks Cassandra if she has ever punched a bear (Again, goes on for a few banters. Includes whether Andraste said Seekers are allowed to hurt animals)

A little bit on my romance with Cassandra

Cassandra asks Sera about her time in the fade and whether she wants to talk

I think I've had some more but nothing I can really remember of the top of my head.

As for a video, I haven't got one.

B5 was ahead of its time in so many ways. A planned five season space opera story from before story arcs were a thing in TV. It's my favourite sci-fi show ever.

Al....right...

I guess the thing's posessed by a Spirit, and not a Demon then...

Or just, you know, something else Dragon Age-y...

Oh, air combat. I have plenty of time in simulators (mostly Spitfires, as WWII remains my favorite era) but that's years ago. Yeah, creeping up behind people in air combat never fails.

It's also one of the bases for Boom and Zoom. Get in fast, hit the bogey hard, and zoom away before the guy knows what happened.

And it's my favorite thing to do when I enter combat to just cloak, get behind someone (when fighting Venatori, that's mostly their Mages) and stab the guy in the back as many times as I please with Flask of Lightning.

Errr... cloak... I meant stealth.

Thinking about it, if you like Bioware games for the deep lore, flawed but relatable characters and interweaving politics, you have to love B5, no?
