She goes crazy even if you say that it might be true.
Doesn't approve but doesn't actually break up with you over it, that's your choice if you decide to push the issue.

Sera doesn't really know what the hell she believes in from a religious viewpoint, she is sorta kinda Andrastian, sorta but she demands that your Dalish elf deny their beliefs to continue the romance. Gah this still annoys me to no end.
I always interpreted Sera's aversion to the old Elven gods part of her hatred of pride. The Dalish are defined by their pride, and I can see how she could feel that a Dalish character affirming the existence of their gods is just expressing the kind of pride that's turned her off to her own people.

She tells you that she wants you to say you were kidding if you say it might be true.

But the Dalish aren't her people ![]()
dalish are elves and to her still elves just "backwards"But the Dalish aren't her people
What is interesting is the fact Sera can't wear dalish armors! I tried, she can't!

Notice the requirements say "elf-trained", not "elf".

Yes but all she really wants is for you to reaffirm that you won't go chasing lost glory, all you have to do is humor her for the moment.

I hear many, contradictory things on the subject, but it's not about chasing lost glory; it's about building new glory, that doesn't have to be Andrastian.

Sera is more human than anything, or at least tries to distance herself from her race as much as she can. It's actually pretty sad lots of self-hate there.

I don't see self-hate, she just doesn't strongly identify with the race she was born into. Similar, but to a lesser extent, like how Krem doesn't identify with the gender he was assigned at birth.
speaking of DLC's for Sera, does any one else feel like something big is in store for Sera? with all the hints coming from the two walking spoilers themselves?
For a character that can be skipped or kicked out at any time? Very unlikely.
But I don't think she will be 'ignored'. It's just that whatever they do with her character arc (if at all) won't be of much significance.

She doesn't care about that either, remember she lives in the now. She's worried about you pursing a lifestyle she can't follow for personal reasons, that's really the basis for her freak out. You can placate that worry or not, that's up to you.
I think it's kinda unfair to say it's self-hate because she doesn't identify with Dalish culture, that's almost like saying City Elves are the same
Wasn't this question asked like, yesterday? Come on, ackey, you're falling behind.
That bad huh? I was going to romance Sera with an Elf, got a little bit into the character, decided Solas was a better choice, then fell in love with Cass so had to make a geezer. Sera has actually fallen quite far on my list of romance order.
i feel it borders on it though its like denying a piece of your culture. Sure you dont believe in it but you gotta respect thatI think it's kinda unfair to say it's self-hate because she doesn't identify with Dalish culture, that's almost like saying City Elves are the same
It's actually not that bad. You still have to make those major decisions and decide whether to continue your relationship no matter what race you are. If you're not too "elfy", she comments on that a lot. Plus, she mentions plenty of times she doesn't usually have an interest in elves so liking you if you're playing an elf is quite special.
NUKEE!
Good to see you in here!

Except it's not her culture.

I lost count of the times she said that girl was too elfy or talking to the Inquisitor elf, elf elf, it's a pretty big issue for her. Not all elves are the same yet she holds her own race in poor esteem.
true but one could make the arguement its ancestral but thats a can that could start a elf fight and if she cares she should be respectful... ideallyExcept it's not her culture.

Well, from her point of view, she probably has to deal with other elves talking to her how she doesn't act elfy enough.

But the Dalish are elves, they are a part of her race, culturally different obviously but they share the same lineage. I think at one point she says "I don't normally go for elves, it's like a bag of chicken necks or something, but you're alright for an elf." The hell.

AKA, she prefers big girls.

Well more specifically it's "I don't normally go for elves, it's like a bag of chicken necks or something, but yes, I like you. You're.... it''s good" ![]()
But that's really her preference for bigger women showing like JediSaint said
