Well, I've now finished the game myself, and...

It was, for me, probably the weakest entry in the series. I'm glad I played it, because I found results that I needed to have happen and loved it. And there were wonderful moments in the game, certainly. But the game as a whole, just wasn't quite right for me. The central narrative is weak, the main villain has a lot of wasted potential, the open world design leaves you flailing around for content that's actually interesting, the companions are only patchily good and don't have nearly enough banter, the combat isn't an improvement, and the PC backgrounds aren't used any more than in Origins.

I felt the ending was anti-climatic, fell flat, Cory and that dragon didn't put up much of a fight. Loved the Temple of Mythal, the Orlesian Ball and Champions of the Just were highlights for me. Game had an abundance of elven lore and content which I adored also.

You're better off bringing her with you for some fetch quests you can earn approval with her on these. Also talking to her back at Skyhold, hit the flirts and just be generally agreeable with her. Lol even on my first playthrough with all the fighting I still managed to see it through to the end.

Umm...did i just screw up my option with her now. Under the Templar and mages choice

The cut scene in the credits is 1000% pure brilliance!

I also loved the ball, I look forward to sweeping Dorian around on the dance floor in a later playthrough.

But I really thought the final battle fell flat - despite even dying a few times due to my own stupidty - it felt really lacklustre, and I kept thinking "That can't be it. There has to be another battle, even Samson was harder than this!"

No it should be fine, you can still win her approval in other key moments. Lol she disapproved of many things I did, still saw the whole thing out, fights and all. If I can make it work you'll be grand. :P

Been awhile since i posted here, time goes fast. Anyway, i actually like Sera alot, although it disappointed me that BW reduced the sole lesbian character into the easily ignored comic relief for the game, i find it weird that she's the only person who can be kicked out while everyone else has to get p*ssed off enough before they'll leave :?

Is it maybe because he recruitment is tied to having the Red Jennies, so it's more like a business partnership that you can sever?

I'd be glad to be able to ask the whole team to leave though. Goddamn broody Blackwall.

I wonder if she's really the comic relief though?

She seems to be 'the character people argue about'.

I think comic relief might be tied between IB, Varric, Sera

Agreed, Solas fascinated me, could listen to him talk about elven history and the Fade for hrs, great character, really surprised me. And that epilogue reveal, brilliant. Next time I'll prob bring the Bull and Dorian along to the ball, turn some heads with my gigantic qunari friend. :D

Yes, I've grown nostalgic for DA2. I always liked it, and I still think it's my favorite game in the series.

I wish i could tell Solas to f**k off personally, his "wise old elf who must always be right" personality gets on my nerves pretty quickly

But he always is right.

Except arguably about the Grey Wardens. I value them more than he.

Epic reveal. Straight up magnificence. :)

I did bring Dorian and Bull and Vivienne. Great combo.

This time I think I'll take Bull (make him spin me on the dance floor), Vivienne (I just can't leave her behind!), and... Cole. Unless anyone has any other awesome reveals that I can't miss out on.

I picked the same as you and her and my Inquisitor are hot and heavy right now. What matters greatly to her is faith (although she is reformist minded) so hint, hint.

I wonder if it was intentional that the most crazy OP party member in gameplay is also the most polarizing.

Is she more polarizing than Vivienne? People seem to argue over her merits as well.

You think Sera is OP combat wise, huh, I'd peg that to Viv myself. Also Sera and Viv seem to be the most disliked of the party members from what I've seen on the boards.

In both respects: they're both incredibly annoying (for some) and incredibly powerful once their specs unlock. Knight Enchanter and Tempest are beasts! Combine with Blackwall with his Champion skills and it's a slaughter fest.

She really is. I posted a video of Sera making quick work of a dragon a few pages back, I'll try dig it up.
