So y'all are home, huh.
Fancy, that. I'm sitting here, in what we call "the small canteen", which is about the only place outside of classrooms where you can find electricity in the wall, trying to write up an essay (whopping fifteen pages, but... the special ones, used in translations and stuff - dunno English name, really.) and I've bought a book called "About the Holy Bible" for one of my exams. A nice day, innit.

Any exploited glitches / bugs could potentially leave the game thinking something hasn't been completed when it was. This would stop other things from happening until said objective is done, only it's already been done so there is no way to fix it yourself.
That's one example.
Other examples can include crashing, burning, rolling on the floor to put the flames out, roll into a tank of methane, blow up petrol station, crack earth into two pieces, world comes to an end. In that order.

Anyway, anyone remember whether the topic was "Ranged Weapons during the Ancient Times" or "Ranged Weapons in the Exalted Age"?

I don't think it's even out yet. Sometimes game patches break saves. Depends. I was just hoping this wouldn't be the case. I don't have much experience with BioWare and patches given I only started playing the first two games of this series over the summer.

I'm at home. I've just completed Hissing Wastes and am now onto Emprise French Fancy Name. Then I'm done. Hopefully... Unless I feel the need to find all them damn bottles and mosaic pieces.

You're in for a bumpy ride. Maybe. I don't know. I don't take notice of patches and what they fix or break. I'm simple. If it works, I will enjoy it.

Yeah since I haven't completed my first run through I reaaaaally don't want to go back and redo everything all over again. Terror indeed.

Exalted Age. Change everything historical to Dragon Age related history. Would make for one hell of a read... and a possible fail but you can use the game you have been playing for a couple of weeks as research.

I've bought DA:O DA2 and ME3 on release and I've yet to experience a patch that broke my save, but of course that doesn't rule it out in the future.

Good to know! Phew! I'm at work for some hours more so I can't really experience the initial joy this patch might bring. I am hoping it will fix the incredibly long load times I sometimes get where I could probably wander off to make a sandwich to come back and find the game loading. ![]()

I'm actually a bit scared because my PC playthrough has been remarkably bug-free so far and I worry that in fixing some things they might break others. Other than Hawke importing as a warrior instead of a rogue, the most annoying thing that has happened to me far was when the drop from the fade rift in "In Hushed Whispers" was lodged underground and I couldn't loot it. I've had plenty of banter.

I've had a few minor glitches like freezes for a few seconds or you're in the middle of a conversation and suddenly it stops and freezes or you can't select anything from the dialogue wheel (but hitting escape usually restarts it). I've also seen npcs blast past me or pop up in the air but most of these things are minor and not as buggy as I've seen other games be on release. I was surprised how well it did run out of the gate.

I fully expect the patch to mess things up for some players. I just hope nothing like save corruption will be experienced.

Hahaaa, yeah.
Sadly, I think the subject is called "Ancient times" or some other bollocks like that. Guess that means he wouldn't be too happy.

Jelly now.
I got the entire trilogy of Mass Effect like, March 2013, and all of the story DLCs for Summer holidays.
Similar with Dragon Age, I got Origins Ultimate Edition and DA2 around March too, only this year.
I was like "Huh. Fantasy. Huh. Sci-fi. Bollocks" until a few years back. Thank F I opened up, because I always liked a strong story with good characters.
It's why I'm here. Story and characters.

Oh yes. I forgot that the dialogue wheel went so that I couldn't click on it (but I could still type the numbers for the appropriate response). I found that hitting the windows key so that the game minimised and then re-selecting it fixed that.

My mum likes sci-fi and fantasy. I grew up reading Tolkien and Asimov, with (old school) Dr Who and Star Trek on the TV and Star Wars in the cinema...

I think I am going to give Mass Effect a go real soon. Like you I didn't think of myself playing fantasy or sci-fi till a few years ago. Now I can't get enough!
