And that's all I was talking about - supposition that maybe Sera's character arc wasn't written with the idea of her being a lesbian in mind, which would also explain non gender specific conversations that would fit for both men and women.
Yay, bodyguard!
I would fall upon my own blade before letting harm come to you. On my honour as a Knight of Hounds, I will be your shield.
If you won't help then I'm calling in backup.
Who would dare raise up arms against such a pretty face!?
There will always be conversations generic enough to fit both genders but from what I remember, there were definitely parts that would be awkward with a male character.
As for some romance dialog being recorded by male VA, iirc they label gender-specific lines so only VAs of that gender record it. However, it's possible someone missed labeling q line.
There were occassional different lines for male and female PC in DA2 though, like Merrill saying either "you're so beautiful and clever" or something specific for a man, and they also could record and add some lines later.
I think that following months will show if there is more straigth content with Sera hidden in game files. Or someone could just ask that guy who romanced her as a man if male recorded lines happened in different points of Sera's romance as well (hey, maybe he didn't see anything out of place because different lines played up for him!), if they did, that would show beyond doubt there wasn't any mistake.
Lyna just recruited Sera.
Too many breeches... ![]()
Cracks me up every time.
Got the "What? My people said the Inquisition would want him dead. So he's dead." line, along with "Bad people deserve bad things to happen to them. We find someone not so bad, maybe he'll end up not so bad!"
And TOO MANY BREECHES.
(The guards who come after really have no pants, making it all the more hilarious
)
And then... "Red Jenny: Inquisition needs BEEEEES! Operation Available"
*Serza starts laughing like a mad man*

I do not enjoy the thought of thinking that Sera was covertly written to be straight or bi. Not at all.
She wasn't.

Someone romanced Sera as a male? ![]()
I didn't say she was. I'm reviewing the conversations that have took place over the last few pages
Oh apologies, I thought another can of worms was going to be cast upon the thread, I panicked haha.
Someone romanced Sera as a male?
I heard there's a bug, but it's rare since I haven't heard it
Merrill had some lines different for a male vs. female Hawke and she was bisexual. I'm not really following you here.
With Sera, there's nothing specific towards a male and some lines that would be awkward with one.
If Merrill was suddenly turned into lesbian despite being originally intended to be bisexual, then if we had similar conversation, that "beautiful and clever" comment would be probably pointed out as awkward with male PC as well. You wouldn't know that she had also different alternative voice line recorded. Besides, I don't really recall a line that would sound awkward in Sera's case.
She wasn't.
You don't know that.

It's a pretty high indication that she was written to be a lesbian

Plus, Sera is gay. She makes a lot of comments for women. She drools all over qunari women and women in general. Also she can be romanced by females.
Oh did i said she's a gay?
Yep, she's gay. Very gay.
Not sure what miso is trying to say tbh.
Yes. It seems that someone's game bugged out and their male character could romance her. He speaks one line about not knowing what present to get her but the rest of the cutscene is quiet. That has led to speculation that maybe at one time she was conceived as bi, but equally it could be that the present quest wasn't always restricted to her romance.Someone romanced Sera as a male?
I've gotten a heart for her once in dialogue but didn't take it as I didn't want to see Sera tell my Quiz to "****** off!" But maybe I shoulda...for sh*ts and giggles. Damn panic.

I picked one after I had locked in with Cass and she was like, "It's not you, it's... you... yeah"

What I wrote - if there are more romance specific voice lines recorded by the male actor, then it wasn't accident, and that would profoundly suggest that Sera originally wasn't intended to be lesbian, but bisexual LI. Those banter lines could be recorded later, besides, if she was bisexual, drooling about women wouldn't be anything out of place you know.
