That's not true. Sera sees the Dalish as treating City elves the way the worst sort of nobles treat their common subjects, and it's given her a lifetime of anger and resentment toward them just like the abuses nobles commit have done.

 

The Dalish don't commonly interact with the city elves, given how they are outlaws under Chantry law (although the fate of Clan Lavellan and the presence of a Dalish Inquisitor will likely change this). The Dalish live on their own, separate from the Andrastian kingdoms, and the clans can vary quite a bit, as we know from the early posts on Dragon Central, and more recently from Solas commenting on how varied the clans can be from one another. Sera also seems to have issue with elves in general, since she even dislikes certain elven options that have nothing to do with the Dalish (like the choice in the Orlesian civil war).

I ran with Sera, Blackwall, and Dorian for my first PT and I've yet to find a team that matches them in terms of feeling like a dysfunctional, hilarious, endearing family.

Oddly enough if I'm not mistaken she likes Briala but she dislikes it if you pick her as an option. She is horrified to see the elven servants butchered, intensifying her hatred for the game and nobility. But she also disliked Bull's suggestion about that elven red head, didn't like her because she was too elfy. Sera pls, not all elves are the same, girl is complex for sure.

Did you read the Masked Empire? Because I find it hard to believe anyone would think that from readig the book. The people in the game don't have a very good perspective on her background or her motivations.

I know I mentioned this before (broken record) but did anyone else not like how they changed Briala's appearance? In the book she had a darker skin tone, nice contrast to Celene's fair as snow skin. Found it pretty odd, also Gaspard is not how I would have pictured him at all myself, in my head he would look more like Blackwall IDK.

I'm loving the new patch. It's awesome how the mini map lights up the items when you use the search function. The days of staining my poor eyes looking for those stupid little loot bags the enemy drops is over! Huzzah!!

I saw videos of her and her skin was fair brown, not as dark as the book probably made it though I'm not sure

Yeah i imagined Gaspard with a maginficent mustache tbh. Even stronger than Dorian's 'stache game.

I didn't re-unite Briala and Celene myself, felt so bad for Briala in the book. She is magnificent, hush up.

Celene looked how I would have imagined her though. Did you re-unite them? It is a tragic romance and they obviously still love one another but man the foundation of that relationship is toxic.

Just checked a couple of the previous pages talking about wanting Sera's perspective as a homosexual city elf and I just have to say I really don't think she even is much of a city elf in the first place. I mean, she wasn't actually raised in an alienage after all, and the game implies that after her rich adopted mother died she lived on the streets and gutters for a long time. She's less of city elf and more of human commoner, which is why I think she's never had to deal with problems of homophobia that would have inevitability come if she was raised in alienage where planned hetero marriages are apparently common. That's why she doesn't have a lesbian equivalent to Dorian's daddy issues, she's just never had to deal such things because her low-born environment didn't give a crap about who she likes to have sex with. Remember, the codex on Sexuality in Thedas only mentions nobles having a big with homosexuality. 

 

Also, having both Dorian and Sera, people of hugely different societal backgrounds having sad LGBT-related back-stories might have seemed to look like pandering on Bioware's part.
