It's all good Lob, it was a great discussion. I actually like the Dalish for the most part I just have a hard time understanding how they could exalt a history they know so little about, guess that's why I'm an atheist lol.
Thank you for sharing that. I'm glad you feel that way. ![]()
I don't think they all exalt Arlathan; I doubt the Sabrae Clan would have considered the possibility that the Arlathan elves summoned Audacity if that was the case, particularly given the orthodox view on spirits. Frankly, I'm more interested in the modern Dalish than in the Arlathan elves. Of course, different Dalish want different things. Some want their own homeland, but others want something else, like hunter Taniel wrote in his journal: "The keeper says that one day the Dalish will find a home that we can call our own. But why? Why should we tie ourselves to stone constructions like the humans and the dwarves? What is wrong with the life we have now? We owe nothing to anyone, we have no master but ourselves, and we go where the halla and the gods take us. There is nothing more wonderful than sitting on an aravel as it flies through the forest, pulled by our halla. We are truly free, for the first time in our people's history. Why should we change this?" It's one of the appeals of playing as a Dalish protagonist: versatility in defining who you are.
There are some theories about what has lead to Sera becoming who she is, and what has shaped her views. Perhaps some of Sera's past will be revealed in DLC?
