Hard just feels like the "oh, by the way, we have tac cam and you should probably use it and also crafting" setting to me. Like, I imagine if I had tried to start playing on Hard, I would have had problems, because it takes me awhile to get all the game systems down, but so far it's a lot easier than I feared. 
 
...I am back to having appropriate level of fear towards Nightmare though. 
 
I love it when I am switching to Sera in battle and she's paused in some ridiculous position like this.

What build are you using, Duelist?

Anything that raises damage (Poisoned Weapons and First Blood being the main ones), Knockout Powder for setting up combos and Caltrops for running away.

Question, Seraheads. Only tangentially related to her, but I figure some of you might know: does she or anyone else ever react to roguequisitors becoming Tempests? I just chose that spec and none of the companions reacted, which wasn't the case when I got other specs. (I've briefly tried out all rogue/warriors just to see reactions) Is there a delayed reaction, or just never one? Any reactions in other quests, like Gaspard to a Champion at Halamshiral?

 

If not, that's a bit disappointing. But only a bit, I guess.

Hey, for those who have played Hard and Nightmare, what's the difficulty difference between them? I'm kind of wishing I had tried Nightmare at first for this run, because Hard is not that difficult so far, and I could have dropped down if Nightmare was unbearable.

 

Nightmare is... well, nightmare early on. But I overlevelled one level before starting Champions of the Just, and it was a semi-breeze with Cass and Wall as sword and boarders, Sera on the bow, and Lyna on the staff.

 

I also found it a no brainier.

That dreadnought probably has a crew of several hundred, the Chargers are what, half a dozen?

 

Though the correct choice would have been to crash into those Tevinter troops from behind...

 

A few good people, potentially friends, versus a couple hundred faceless horned giants?

 

I turned the dreadnought into a submarine.

And involve the same people. I usually don't touch them either, though they are pretty sane now that most of the usual suspects are blocked

I'm grinding my way through so that my gear can keep up although stumbling on Enhanced Twin Fangs Ring has made life much easier.
