Whoa. Was going to reply to a post and then the internet decided to poop itself... so I come back to make the reply and now the topic has changed, but I must say it anyway.
In response to whoever stated that Sera looks like a cross between a crack head and Gollum... now that is hilarious and all, but it depends on taste and what not. I think she's very attractive... I mean, she's no Isabela or Miranda Lawson, but she's definitely do-able, more so in a "cute" way than an "extremely sexy" kind of look. But that's just me.
I've noticed the Sera hate, usually people don't like how she hates on you if you don't agree with her opinions. Or she's dumb and immature... if there's one thing I've noticed about this game, it's the fact that you can very easily get annoyed with certain characters if you pick a response that they don't agree with. I detested Cassandra at first, but after a while I decided to give her a chance. Now my character and her are good friends... though I must laugh at her accusing my character of flirting when I did no such thing. If only there was a response that said "If I wanted a man, I'd go with Cullen." or something, but anyway.
I liked Solas in the beginning but I seem to do all of the things he doesn't like, so in this situation, he is opinionated. If you're not all into fade spirits and do things he doesn't like, it leads to a little fight. If you disagree with Vivienne straight off the bat she treats you like a piece of turd and it is very hard to win favour with her after that.
Sera is immature. Yes, she certainly is. I put it down to her age, and though many don't like it or can't stand it, I effing love just about everything she says, all of her jokes. She's a complex character... she can be a right ******, but at the same time there's a sensitivity and vulnerability to her. Deep down she is actually quite intelligent, she just doesn't portray it.
Bioware characters are not designed to be "perfect" or to please everybody, obviously. It just makes it that much more realistic, and I say well done. This is why these games are unique and though they may never be as popular as Call of Duty and GTA, at least we have an opportunity to experience a game that has a little more to it than a bit of combat.
In regard to combat, Sera has proven to be a life saver in certain situations. All of my party members died at Mythal and she had to go solo, and though it took about two hours she finally kicked some butt in the end. Well that was on a previous play-through... this time around it shouldn't be so hard. But still, she's handy to have around.
