Well, I have a theory she may actually be Red Jenny, as in the leader of it. Long ago she was said to be the leader of her group but the group was never specified. Plus all our followers are people of importance. So I think she may be more forward about being part of the Friends of Red Jenny, but not her being the current Red Jenny.

She could be the leader but I don't think we will know that information when we recruit her.  I don't think the FoRJ do business cards.

I thought Sera would be an exception to that 'people of importance' rule and I was wondering why the Inquisition would even recruit her in the first place.  I just don't think she'd let us know that she leads this ultra super secret organization at first.

Seeing as we can hate our lovers that would be an interesting route. Sera falling for an inquisitor who abuses power and kicks the working man at every opportunity.

So *clap hands* ladies (and men with finquisitors). How do we all think Sera will declare her affections. Bluntly I presume.

Bluntness aside, I am personally hoping for a bit of hilarity. Maybe some romance!fail like Aveline's quest xD (except not as circumspect).

Edit: Maria's story there fits the bill somewhat xD

Hopefully she'll talk alot about her affections if romanced, i don't want it going back to the silent Leliana situation in Origins again.

I think in a way that would allow her to brush it off as a joke if it's not reciprocated.

What if Friends of Red Jenny have multiple chapters across Thedas? She just happens to be the leader of the one in Orlais/Fereldan?

I don't mean to push my way into the main convo here, but did anything I say resonate with others?

What do you think about more toned down "adventurers" in general? As opposed to being thrust into the "epic".

To me, this is why Sera's appealing. It's her archetype. The Rogue, pure and simple. And it's not an archetype tapped into enough.

That's what I'm saying. At first she will just let us know she is a member of that group, but later on in the story events occur that causes her to have to reveal just how involved she is.

Well, her profile page does say she finds the Inquisition as opposed to the other way around, which might imply something other than the usual 'Recruit X because they're important to the mission' formula.

Which makes her all the more interesting to me.

Isn't there some other thread specifically dedicated to sexual orientation discussion? Yeah, pretty sure there is. Ergo, I request that you please take your concerns on the matter over to a separate thread, because you seem to derail the topic off Sera into "LESBIANISM AND HOW LESBIANISM IS IMPORTANT TO ME PERSONALLY AND THIS IS HOW I VIEW LESBIANISM AND SERA IS LESBIAN" as if that's the only thing to her character.

This is a thread about Sera. Sera is a lesbian. Maria is completely on-topic.

Given the events of the game, the Friends of Red Jenny may seek out the Inquisition specifically to help them. Sera could approach the Inquisitor and ask for help with a specific problem, and we could ask us to join her afterwards.

The Inquisition may become big and powerful during the game, but it probably starts small enough that a skilled rogue coming up to us and saying 'I'm part of an group of people who wants to help you, but you need to help us first' would be enticing.

Or maybe the FoRJ have information about the Breach the Inquisition would find valuable.

Maria brought up the fact that lesbians often care a LOT about other women, and that may be reflected in how Sera is written.  That's a perfectly valid subject for this thread.

If she cares of lot about women, then that's because of her character, not the fact she's a lesbian.

This is a very likely scenario, considering BioWare's previous handling of companion recruitment.

I like them...DA2 tried to do something like this and I was happy to see they tried to do something a bit different than DA:O.  Though, Hawke becomes 'epic' at some point and can kill Darkspawn Magister dudes.

Yeah, I think part of the character appeal is that Sera exists as a companion in an epic setting (I'm assuming that's going to be the gist of DA:I).

Probably, I still like to know what was the box in the mage tower. That is one mystery I would like to see solved, maybe Sera knows.

Sera mugs Cassandra.

Let's be honest, we all want to see that happening.

The only companions I don't see being leaders or relevant personalities are Cole and possibly Solas (who Can be a leader of the mages though).

I think if Sera tried mugging Cassandra, Sera would end up being recruited from the Inquisition's dungeon with quite a few bumps and bruises.

That's true.  The situation with the world is far from 'normal' so staying super secret becomes a lower priority than stopping all the demons.

I hope Sera does a lot of stealing in the game. I want my inquisitor to receive beautiful jewellery just to be accused of theft from Vivienne later on.

It's rude for Cassandra to defend herself from a mugging?

The group is called 'Friends of Red Jenny'.
