everyone is selfish and apathy doesn't mean that you are better than person who don't have it pretty much person who lack empathy may ignore you when person who have one can hurt you...

Not everyone is selfish. I'm not selfish. My sister isn't selfish. My neighbors aren't selfish.

Blanket statements like that are so wrong.

And yes, I do realize who I'm replying to.

Being selfish is part of human nature of course most won't admit it as most peoples won't admit that would leave to death other person in dangerous situation... ultimately start asking why you are helping someone and we will drill to selfish part...

1) Innocent people don't exist.

2) Sociopaths are also people.

1. Sure. Everyone has probably wronged another at some point, and probably on multiple occasions, throughout their life. That doesn't necessarily mean they deserve to be butchered however. The village would be innocent in the sense that they didn't deserve to be murdered, not in the sense that they've never 'sinned.' (for lack of a better word)

2. They are entirely selfish people who completely lack empathy for others. They fit what people generally mean by 'evil.'

But elves' ears are very sensitive

That's my girl.

How sensitive, I wonder?

Oh noooo, I hope she has really long elf ears like in DA2. Those look so much better than the little leaf-ears of Origins!

But... but.. Their ears are far too curved on the side, an enemy could take advantage of it. I only fear for their safety

1.Well what other person deserves is rather up to your opinion isn't?

2.So as all peoples save for lack of empathy do you know that many peoples around sociopath takes them as good peoples until it is revealed that individual is sociopath same with many other peoples...

If you were to see a bunch of people being brutally murdered, and your only reaction was apathy because it didn't personally affect you...that is socipathic behavior. Its a total lack of empathy.

If i killed them i would argue that i was "evil" if i simple don't care i don't think it is evil unless you go with everyone who don't follow my morals is evil puting you into self-righteous territory. As i said empathy or not peoples who aren't sociopaths tend react ignoring someone beaten in the middle of the street and to be honest it is rather healthy attitude.

Lets say they were killed by bandits who wanted nothing more than a little rapine, plunder, and slaughter.

If the Inquisitor didn't care when stumbling across that bloody scene, I'd say that would make him or her evil. It makes the Inquisitor completely indifferent to innocent people being robbed, raped, and murdered. That being said there is a difference between 'not caring' and perhaps not doing anything about it because of more pressing concerns. (like veil teirs and demons ruining the world and such)

So there is only black and white in your opinion if i understand?

I don't see why other peoples have to care about other peoples problems and if they don't they are evil despite not harming someone.Im not very moral person so perhaps i don't understand something but that how it looks...

A lack of empathy being a symptom of an antisocial personality disorder isn't something that I conjured up. Its the opinion of medical science.

1) Nobody deserves anything. You get what you get.

2) The lack of empathy doesn't make one evil.

1. Not sure what point you are trying to make there.

2. Evil is defined as morally bad or wrong. A lack of empathy would be defined as morally bad or wrong (and therefore evil) by most people. Of course whether or not something is evil can be subjective, but a lack of empathy would be defined as an evil trait by society as a whole.

EDIT: I'm going to make that my last post on the subject in this thread. Its been derailed enough.

<scrolls through the thread>

TKS:  You're taking this way off topic.  This isn't about Varric..  I'm sorry you don't find any of the companions interesting so far.  That does suck.  This is about "Sera."  If you don't anything constructive to say on the topic, then please leave.  There is a thread that covers the companions in general if you wish to discuss Varric's possible role in DA:I, Guys, please quit encouraging him and just get back on topic.

I'll start: It's funny to see how many people think that the Blonde Elf Girl has a "Sue-vibe" just because she has everyone laughing in the only current picture of her.  I guess I don't get it.  I do agree with some of the others though; I really hope we don't have to dig too hard to get to her inner layers.  Otherwise, and I hate to say it, there might not be much to her that Varrc doesn't have already (personality-wise.)

Reading the thread from earlier, apparently so.  I have no idea how they got that one from picture, although I've seen what appears to be ME references about a character that looked liked her.  I had no clue where this is coming from.  She made a bunch of the companions and who appears to be a rogue PC laughing, and now she's a sue?

Oh and apparently the leaked survey info is the other reason.  It just seems more than a little early to start tossing around the words "Mary Sue."

There is absolutely no way to tell if the character is a mary Sue.

there's also no way to tell because Mary Sue has more definitions than my newest TV
