Problem with that though is that you can miss out on what is supposedly some very nice gear in one of two rooms, each requiring the same amount of statues. There aren't enough to open all 3 doors. It's probably best to go in with a plan before opening every door you find.

Yeah I definitely failed a little in my exploration on this PT.

Didn't realise I was in the endgame until too late, as I was obsessing about approval dropping over time, so I missed some doors, which meant I had the Halla left to do this.

You might want to try looking in the house in Haven where you wake up. Could be that it is there now even though you already had that scene.

Yeah I found all the halla statues according to the quest tracker. Is it 15 in total? 10? You need 5 for the room with the guy.

The Winter Palace level is designed in such a way that it makes you want to go back and explore more. There's so much good loot hidden away, but since you can't open every door with the limited number of statues available, you have to play pick and choose.

 

I remember having to save and reload a LOT just to make sure I was opening the doors I want. And I still missed some stuff despite all that.

Pretty much.

 

It's impossible to 'get it right' without some solid foreknowledge in place.

 

Makes me glad the rest of the game's levels don't work that way.

The main thing I regret not knowing is the ability to find dirt on Celene and use it to blackmail her (or get her to work together with Gaspard and Briala). It wasn't even in the guide which was I following pretty closely at the time.

 

I would have preferred that outcome. Alas, I'm okay with Celene being the sole ruler once more.
