Duty and devotion come in many forms. I'm more concerned though with what I said when I started this line of discussion: That Leliana isn't taking care of herself. She isn't doing what she wants.
That's a recurring problem for her. She tends to latch onto people who tell her what to do and she doesn't take the time to figure out what she wants.

On the contrary. Cassandra is exactly like Leliana. Devoted to duty, body and soul.And every bit as ruthless. She is even more devoted in ways, as there isn't really anything else in her life besides duty where Leliana at least has old friendships and some hobbies. The diffrence is that she carries out her duties in full uniform and in ways that are mose easy for most people to stomach, though the end result is the same as with Lels methods.
I find them similar but yet strikingly different. Leliana's perceived duty was to Justinia the woman That's why she did what she did. She thought she could do the dirty work that would allow her friend and mentor to affect real change in the world. Cass clearly respected Justinia greatly but her devotion is more to the chantry itself. She's remarkable tolerant and understanding of others' opinions, though, and she is a massive soppy romantic, so it's a bit harsh to say that there's nothing else that's important to her, although of course the Chantry is her main focus. Her banter if you're in a relationship with Sera is really touching, actually.

That might be one of the main differences with Cassandra. She almost seems relieved that she doesn't have to be a Right Hand again. She doesn't look at the prospect fondly. Like she's ready to call her own shots. I forgot the exact lines though.

what cassandra want (and I got that after doing the seeker quest)..is that , she want to find the true meaning of faith . the true mission that the maker bestowed upon the chantry , not just build cathedral.....bow to divine and cleric..and have seeker bodyguard . She say something like that....
That they should seek the true purpose....look more...maybe go farther in the world.....learn from others to find who they are..test your faith..and so on....
edit: she also say..she want the chantry purpose to be involved with the poor..to be a healing and a conforting house..not rich and filled with politic and scorn. And I agree with her..even if..I dont like the chantry as such . I think..thats what religion in general should be..if it must exist .
