I love this thread so much.

tumblr_mpfhmsZ0lA1roicxzo4_250.gif

I really wish people would pay attention more to Sera's personality instead of the "outside", on how she acts and how she looks. 95% of the comments are about her looks and the way she talks. She's not Angelina Jolie and doesn't talk like high class/pompous way.

People need to pay attention to characters and how and WHY they act like this, i mean i try to understand Blackwall even though he's my least favorite (no hate ofc) and i still do.

As in terms of beauty, tastes differ of course. My beef with them is how they call her in a fooking rude way, to put it mildly. Most of these comments reminded me the way little stupid kids use to say to someone who isn't "typically attractive" in schools. IMO, Sera is the most attractive of them all... when i saw her at first i said "that's a unique look, if i ever seen one". And she has great, big, kissable lips jaysus, the things they can do dfghdfkad.... *AHEM* Sorry.

Maybe it's like Cat said, people need time to get her. Some get her instantly (like me) and others take a little more time.

At least Cass understood her instantly and got all mother hen on her and that says so much about that big softie of a dragon killer.

Edit: the typos.... i need coffee.

All tizzied about the penquin who tripped and went splat, noone sees the pebbles kicked around - damned penguins.

It's fun figuring out her riddlish dance around the subject she talks about.

Oh, I'm sorry. Did anyone else want any? Too late!

I'll have too much of this later probably. It's the office holiday party. I have to try to be good! Oh who am I kidding? A whole table full of pies, cakes, cookies and candy and they expect me to be good?

They are beauties! I have two girls and one boy. My "minion", the one who follows daddy everywhere and needs his constant attention, would be the calico (Jennie) who likes to be where ever I am in the house.

The beauty of Bioware games is that the depth is there in the characters if you look for it, but you can play them as just a fun action RPG story if you want. I think that those who take the latter course of action are missing out, but that's their problem. All I want to do is ensure that Bioware see how much those of us who like to look deeper value the experience and don't start cutting down on it. Judging by this game, they certainly don't seem to be.

Sadly no pets allowed in our rented apartment but:

I think Sera is really cute myself. Can't understand the looks comments she gets. But I always liked the quirky and the unique. For me, the hard part was her personality at first. I've gotten beyond the first impressions though as I've had more experience on her. Others probably bailed at the first opportunity.

I'm not crazy about Sera's looks (and she's a blonde. Don't care for blondes), but the way some people put it you would think it was a hanging offence/personal insult. Actually there has been a lot of complaining about the appearance of the ladies in general. I've seen people call Josephine ugly even though she is pretty close to the classical ideal of beauty. That nose.

I don't want to pull this thread into flame war territory but the reactions by some to the female characters in this game... Well lets just say it helps to justify one side of a particular argument that's being going on around video games this year...

We can discuss it in PM if you like.

Back to Sera: she doesn't strike me as an animal lover at all. She complains about the smell of animals/nature a few times. And doesn't she prank Solas by putting lizards in his bedroll?

Do you think she could resist those eyes?

It's not the "ugly" comments, it's comments like "gollum" and all these "gems" we got from these people.

"Gollum?" Really? People are ridiculous sometimes. It sounds like a lot of immaturity and probably the commentators own insecurities.

I think Sera is actually quite attractive, but there is a particular screenshot were I can see where the gollum comments come from. Still a jerk thing to say though.

Thedas doesn't seem to do the domesticated house pet thing very much. Dogs are kept but their purpose is utilitarian. Sera would probably be similar in attitudes to my grandmother who grew up on a farm. She couldn't fathom why we kept Cats in the house. In her time Cats were only kept on the farm to keep the rodent population and other undesirable species down and they were never allowed in the house. They stayed in the barn with the dogs. I suspect Sera probably would see animals much the same way: By how useful they were. But she would not be alone in that. But I am theorizing about a fantasy world and the attitudes of it's inhabitants here so...

As I understand it, historically the idea of domesticated pets is a very new one. It's only really from the last couple of hundred years. Putting that aside, Sera strikes me as a city girl through and through. This means that she doesn't like wild animals or the great outdoors, but I'm not sure she'd be against having a cat. Probably not a dog, though. she wouldn't relish taking it for a walk.

I'm working on creating Aubrey, and having had the same party for two playthroughs, I think with him I'll be msotly taking Dorian (his lover has to come along everywhere, of course), Sera (he can't leave his bestie behind!), and Cass/Blackwall.

It's going to be so bloody weird not having Bull everywhere I go!
