I think it's great that they included Dwarves and Qunari as options but the game was originally designed with a human protagonist in mind. The other races were added afterwards There's a lot of Elvish lore involved in the story, too.

In the end, though, there's no reason why the protagonist can't be from any race. All different races really do is change the story peripherally.

They did it for DAO...they did it for Swtor !!! They made many races then peoples wanted Cathar...they added cathar but they didnt change any text..so ya are a Cathar..but some stupid soldier will explain to YOU Standing as a cathar before him..what cathar are !!

 

At least in this game....the game recognize a Qunari or a dwarf....

Ngl this game is so human centic as usual happens in games with many races (or no races. looks at you Mass Effect for making my Shepard caring about earth whereas she has never been born there nor never cared about Earth at all).. Hence why I wonder why BW bothers so much with other races if they aren't making them that much relevant to plot.

 

Anyway, don't care much, i love my Trevelyan (damn she hot tho) and Sera likes qunari a little TOO much. This is enough for me to enjoy the game as qunari. *shrugs*

 

Plus, qunari are hawt. Imo.
