Hey, when does Sera's card to change to reflect the romance? I thought it would be after the gift quest, but it didn't change after i completed it.

In my game, AFTER getting some cookie nookie, the next time you visit her in her tavern room she gets into a fight with you. You didn't do anything wrong, she's just being Sera. You argue, then it gives an option to break off the romance after, but if you choose to continue the romance, you get an Achievement and a new Tarot card for Sera..

Interesting. At what point was this, main story wise?
I got the gift quest incredibly early. Almost as soon as i got to Skyhold.

Morning thread!
Seras personal scenes are almost random on when they pop-up. Some seem to be tied to approval, some to the main story and some on her personal wartable stuff+approval.Though i have a suspicion that it's the same with all the companions.

Ha, you're always posting good morning just as I'm about to log off for the evening while swearing that I shouldn't have stayed up so late.
Gonna play the final Haven fight tomorrow on Nightmare. I'm scared. BUT THEN AFTER THAT SERAMANCE so. I'm gonna do it. I need those Sera scenes.

Anti-Chris, that's a really good question. In my case, I only figured out how to trigger the romance near the end of the game, right before the Andoran Wilds/Mythal Temple mission. So yeah, it may well be main story progress-controlled, as you surmised.
So to clarify, Sera will give you cookie, then nookie, before she actually realizes how much she loves you. She kinda has a nervous breakdown from loving you too much, it's both funny, silly, yet genuinely touching 'cos you can't fake stuff like this. This isn't a spoiler as you won't know what I mean until you see it for yourself.
It's something to look forward to, I hope you'll agree when you see it for yourself!

Mornin' y'all.
You want someone who looks tough, get a warrior.
You want pike twirling, get a mage.
But when you need s*** dead, get a rogue.
Assassin specifically.
Hooyah! Go Rogues!
thank you that helps me out a lot. I was worried about dying in every battle and forgot those fade touched joints. That thousand cuts is clutch.
Never used Thousand Cuts on my first PT. It bugged out the few times I tried to use it, and only gave me the final hit...
You have AWESOME amounts of mobility as a DW Rogue, which can keep you out of harms way.
(If you're in a cluster, you can pause, select new target further out, and either twin fangs or flank attack your way to it. Flank Attack re-stealths with upgrade)
And when you REALLY, REALLY need sh*t DEAD, just break an upgraded Flask of Fire and spam Deathblow. If an enemy is about to hit you for a lot of damage, break a (preferably upgraded) Flask of Lightning, stab him a few times as a good-bye, and run off before the poor sod can actually finish the stab/slash.
If you know you ARE going to take a hit, break a Flask of Ice - 85% damage reduction, and anyone who tries sh*t gets frozen.
As I said, we do not kill instantly like our Assassin colleagues. We instead wade onto the battlefield, create CHAOS, and not only we understand the flow when the CHAOS gets really CHAOTIC, we actually enjoy it. (Mostly because we understand the chaos, unlike the rest of the combatants.)
Interesting thing about Sera's gift quest.
Spoiler
This game's getting more awesome by the minute, and it's been out over a month now.
I mean, I just yesterday did Leli's Nemesis Quest (Calpernia) - and new content, new awesome!
"To boldly go where no Jacob has gone before..."
I'll admit it. Jacob "The Priiiiize" Taylor never really interested me. I had a Turian Bro and a Quarian Sis on board.
(I actually may have also did a thing with the ME2 Suicide Mission Survival Calc that had only Shepard, Tali and Garrus surviving, along with the crew - just to indicate how badass the three actually are. Never tried it though. Did that post-fourth playthrough of the trilogy.)

For serial though, Tempest is fun and probably the best boss/dragon killing spec.

Indeed. I went after those three in Emprise du Lion yesterday and Sera made short work of them. I think the last one is the highest level dragon. The people in that area are really unlucky: red templars and demons and dragons oh my!

So Sera Romance... I think everything up to the "gift" quest is only gated on approval, because I got all that after arriving Skyhold but before completing any main story quests. I personally got the "seal the romance/get the achievement" scene after the Wardens and Halamshiral, so you certainly don't need to go further than that.
I've always liked rogues and mages just about equally. My canon Warden is a mage and Hawke is a DW rogue. Next PT after Tressa will be a male human rogue for sure. Cassmance awaits. Warriors, though... Meh. I'll leave that stuff to Cass/Aveline/Alistair.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Jacob is the only Bioware character that just does nothing for me. Not irritate me. Not anything. He's just.... Meh. I guess they may have been attempting to avoid racial clichés but they just ended up with Mr Dull McBoring, which is a shame.

Yeah I'm usually just along for Mark of Death while Sera and Varric do most of the work.
But one would think that demons, dragons and red templars are a sign that the Maker doesn't want you living there, no?

What can I say.
While I love the "Whoops, you didn't see me coming? Oh, sorry, here, have a dagger." style (and thus Assassin isn't far from my heart), I just can't deny that a "5v1, killed them all effortlessly" doesn't have a place in my heart. Plus I just love the adrenaline accompanied with a chaotic battlefield.
