Well I know I can't speak for all lesbians everywhere, but if that is really the case then they would have to take certain precautions and measures to prevent pain and injury, most of which would not be available to the people of Thedas (unless they have latex and I just don't know about it.) I'm not trying to turn this into a sex ed class but seriously.

Plus, just because Sera's a lesbian doesn't mean she constantly has sex. Maybe she keeps her fingernails longer because she isn't sticking her fingers in someone every hour of every day? There's no need to take the fingernail observation so seriously, it was just something I noticed. I don't think it will have any bearing on what her sexuality turns out to be. Again, wasn't saying I speak for all lesbians, but I think an overwhelming majority would express the desire to not have giant fingernails involved in their love lives, and I will leave it at that.

Which is totally possibly and depends on how she is written. Not everyone has a perfect awareness of the exact state of their sexuality after all.

1) Let's remember that there are lots of sex acts that don't involve sticking fingers in orifices. There are women who don't like to be penetrated, and if that's something you're into there are devices just for that purpose.

2) It requires extra care and skill. The nail should be clean, rounded, and smooth (true even for short nails) and you need to be careful of your angle (true even for short nails.) You need some awareness of what you're doing.
