Sheeeeeeeeeit, the girl's awesome.

And some cats...

Tear your guts out...

If you as much as look at them wrong...

(Hey, tigers and lions are still cats. Technically.)

my daggers are called "move b*tch"and "get out da way" respectively. at least this set is. I insert hip hop in some way every playthrough.

Sera's first bow was named Troublemaker but then I made "Manic Monday" because why wouldn't Sera like The Bangles?

Oooh. I know that song. Or, well, that bit of the song. Which one's it?

I noted before how where the characters hang out reveals something about them.(Iron Bull sits in the tavern where he can listen to gossip and gather info, Vivienne places herself above everyone and in plain view, etc.)

Oh I must have missed that! Let me try...

Varric has moved from the Tavern in DAII to the great hall here. He doesn't feel at home in Skyhold, but he can't be away from people. Dorian might look like a darker-skinned Errol Flynn but actually he's a massive geek, hence hanging out in the library. Solas is ostensibly "alone" but actually mid-way between all the dignitaries and the library, making something impressive-looking. Cole is hidden away in a corner but with a great vantage point over all the people he could help. Cass is on the practice ground so that people can see her martial prowess. Also you could argue that she can watch everyone going by without actually having to talk to them much...

Josie is exactly where you'd expect her to be, at the heart of everything. Leli is hidden away at the top of the tallest tower other than the one containing your quarters. Both fitting given her role and sad given her love of The Game. Cullen is interesting. An impressive office but set apart from everyone else. I don't think it's because he feels superior. Maybe it's because he's still insecure about himself with his addiction problems...

Funny messenger tag between Leliana and Sera.

Leliana: Please could you repeat that? Sera asks for what?

Messenger: (clearly uncomfortable) Knives... that have other knives along the blade but are actually arrows. She added 'like they used to have she knows where'. I'm terribly sorry.

Leliana: *amused* No no. Thank you. I'll take care of it. *sigh* Sera.

Oh, and remember that agent of Leliana's who got murdered at the start of the game? Where we can encourage or discourage her to kill the culprit? The murdered agent's name was Farrier. A farrier is someone who makes horse shoes. No wonder she's mad that he's dead. :D

About Cullen: his quarters are on the ramparts. That way he can spot hostiles coming. Ever the protector.

Solas: the apostate is in a circular room. In the same tower as the rookery where secrets are being received and sent. Clever boy.

Leliana: she's in a high room, but it's dark. She puts birds in cages but also takes them out. Again, it's dark except for the statue of Andraste where it's all lit up. Reflects the dichotomy of her character and how easily she can go in either direction.

Ah yes... Solas is quite strategically positioned indeed... Cullen needs to look after himself more. (Fix the damn roof you idiot!)

I think possibly Solas, Dorian and Lel are all in the same tower because they didn't want to make three towers, and you don't want to run between them. Hence the abrupt changes of decor.

I really wish the castle got fixed up more as we go along. The cellar is still full of cobwebs and clutter. And that rubble on the way to the war room never gets cleared up. Mind, it's a great place to eavesdrop on whoever is in the garden, but still. Those people can just as easily eavesdrop on the war room.

Speaking of the war room, if you are reading a report and a convo starts, the advisors will turn to look at who they are speaking to and the mouth moves too. Good detail.

Talking of Cullen, here's one nice bit of reactivity I noticed yesterday. I only just finished with The Emerald Graves, after having scoured Emprise du Leon looking for tier three stuff, hence I gave Cullen information about the location of Sampson's red lyrium mine after I'd already liberated it. I can't remember his exact words but it was basically "LOL! You totally cleared out his main source of Red Lyrium already! Hahaha! let's go look for clues." I imagine it's a lot more serious if you complete the quest beforehand as you're probably intended to, but it's cool that they put that in, and nice to see him smirking and enjoying himself.

It is. That's how I did it on my first pt.

I'm actually tempted to do it the other way around now that you mention it.

Artemis! You're back! Yay! :)

Is that everyone?

Hi Uncle! Yup, I'm back! :D

*Poke thread* see my wifey is back  Hey stellahhhh !

her romance with a dwarf is hilarious , and a human too . and easier then with a blasted elf...seriously .

for side quest on the Hinterland , all those starter quests : getting meds for the elf guy , food and caches . More in red cliff , the old elf guy and flower for his wife , mister loosly the ram and she approve of hiring any rogue agent using varric . She will dissaprove of any hiring of Mages , so leave her out of party when you go hire them .

She also get approval if you are an elf , but never use the special Icon and instead rely on Solas . When you get Skyhold and you gotta do the speech (dont pick the reply of Ambassador as an elf , any other race can ) but instead go for 'cose it is the right thing to do' . And conscript either side Mage or Templar (Unless you are Qunari , then ya can have them as ally and wont take much hit) .

Hello, you.

Back for more analysis!

I noted before how where the characters hang out reveals something about them.(Iron Bull sits in the tavern where he can listen to gossip and gather info, Vivienne places herself above everyone and in plain view, etc.)

To continue on that thought: there are two characters who don't put much stock in talk. They're both evasive about their past, but their surroundings reveal a few things about them. Who? Sera and Blackwall. Notice how they both chose a spot that was out of the way? Sera is in the tavern, sure, but she hangs out in her little corner. Among the people but still apart from them. She feels she doesn't quite fit in, perhaps?

The tavern is pretty shabby, but Sera's room is on the fancier side. Her clothes are ragged, but she has nice stuff in her room. Interesting little dichotomy, isn't it?

Blackwall likewise chose a place that is out of the way, but we can find him making a toy for kids. They're both 'do it yourself' types. Is it any wonder they are friends?

Also, Vivienne. She chose a spot where everyone can see her and she surrounds herself with finery, but it can be tricky to access the place. She's showing off. In the 'expectations thread' quite a few people have said they thought Vivienne would have greater relevance to the plot because of the ad campaign. Remember it was Vivi herself talking in those ads. She talks a big game, but she's really small fry. In fact you could say she is largely irrelevant to the plot...

Sera and Blackwall are out of the way, but they're easy to find since they're both near fast travel points. Vivienne? It takes a bit of navigation and detours.

Character quests spoilers ahoy!

Spoiler

And that's my ramblings for today!

BC, hi! *waves*

An insightful analysis, I enjoyed reading it. :)

Ah yes... Solas is quite strategically positioned indeed... Cullen needs to look after himself more. (Fix the damn roof you idiot!)

To be quite fair, it's not exactly his job to fix holes in the roofs, one would think that amongst all the people in Skyhold there would be at least one who has enough spare time and knowledge to do that. :?

You'd think there'd be a requisition for it. But it's always bird cages and walrus cleaning kits.

Actually no, I'd rather someone just fixed the damn roof.

That's not funny.

Funny or not, my money's on it happening, at least as part of some bigger "Skyhold Customisation" DLC with the new clothes and such that have been hinted at.

I can see it happening. That DLC though has to be free. This stuff should have been available from the get-go. I'd pay for actual story content but stuff like this, it'll be over-priced and totally pointless.

They've hinted at free stuff, but equally we've had paid armour packs and appearance packs in previous Bioware games, so...

Oh sure, it was the thought of DLC requisitions that was yeah no. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a DLC pack with Skyhold clothes, more hair and an appearance changer thingy.
