All the characters in the game have grown on me to the point where I might like some less than others (Viv) but I've found sympathetic aspects to all of them. I did Blackwell's personal quest and revelations over the weekend. I was very impressed with what BioWare did here. Blackwell went from being a character I was very on the fence about to being one I find more interesting now that his big secret is known to me (I did manage to avoid all spoilers about his big reveal till now).

 

This is really the best cast of any DA game yet and people will see that in time.

Blackwall is a very interesting contrast to Sera for a variety of reasons. I'm at work now, but my student is leaving early so I'll be able to write my inane psycho babblings about him here. He is a very interesting contrast with Sera. Yin Yang, as it were.

 

There are characters I like a lot (Cassandra, Cole and Dorian), some I like ok (Sera, Cullen, Josephine and Solas), some I don't really like (Vivienne, Iron Bull), some I don't mind (Blackwall and Varric). The only characters I outright hate in this game are Florianne and Erimond (jerks), but it's not because they're badly written. On the contrary.

 

And of course I adore Leliana. She's my forever girl. :wub:

Kinda wish we could dance with Celene. This would be a dance everyone could talk about for ages.

Kinda wish we could dance with Celene. This would be a dance everyone could talk about for ages.

I love the dance sequence, but Florianne is so smug. It's so satisfying to send her plans crashing down around her. :D

The dance scene with Florianne is excellent. Proceeding to destroy her at her own game in her own party, and then finally have her as my jester? Perfect. I just wish I could call on her to perform. ;)

Glad to see I am not the only one whose Uni is still open today. My student is enjoying herself in Italy however while I try and make it to 5pm without going nuts but I can console myself with being off till the 5th!  :lol:

 

I'd put Cassandra, Dorian, Leliana, and Sera in favorites. Josephine, Cullen, Cole, Solas and Blackwall in "Ok with" and just "sort of there" would be Viv and Bull. I am also very happy to have Morrigan back!  :wub:  But you're right about all the chars being so well written. 

 

I did something wrong with Leliana so that she's embittered and murderous in my game. Somewhere in this forum I saw that you have a dialogue with her in Haven that sets in motion how she'll be later in the game. Next playthrough I am going to pay closer attention to my Haven chats with her than I did this time. I feel so sad watching what she has become late in my game.   :(

Florianne is a freaking super ninja somehow.

She's a rogue. All rogues in DAI are ninjas. Did you check out the Sabotage skill tree? Poisoned weapons, throwing daggers, poison gas bomb and a grapple chain to yank ourselves towards opponents and kick them, ending in a backflip away.

 

The dual dagger tree is no slouch in ninja skills either. That twirl move...

I fought her in my second run. The judgment and war table mission that come with it are so worth it. All three advisors make awesome suggestions.

I fought her in one playthrough, and detained her in the other. 

 

I still don't feel like my judgement choices reflected the characters I wanted to play...

The judgement is different than if you just have her arrested? I was pretty pleased to have her as my jester...

No, they're the same. I don't mind the choices exactly, but maybe the wording...

 

I just know I spent way too long staring at the screen trying to figure out which was the best way to go.

As to not making more characters like Sera? She inspired hate, so they made a character that people remember. I'm sure Lukas feels that he did his job well.

I agree, I think Lukas did a wonderful job plus everyone else involved with Sera.

We had a nice dance and then we had a fight for the ages. That fight was fun too. I really like going up against assassins in game.  :lol: Florianne was a worthy opponent!
