that was a fun theory. But it means that sera lied about everything to the inquisitor :pinched:

Unless she doesn't know... Legend says The Dread Wolf trapped the Elven gods somewhere, but who is to say they were not trapped in mortal bodies?

Does she lie or does she not know maybe?

Hey Sardaukar, did you always have that Ace Rimmer quote in your sig?

I changed it today. Though I think it was actually my first sig here as well.

I'm tempted to do this with my current elf play through. I'm mostly curious if it could effect some interaction with Sera in the future (in DLC or whatever). Did you get any banter about the breakup?

I didn't hit any banter because I basically went breakup -> Shrine thing -> Blow up the Breach -> Dancing with Ewoks -> Credits. I did a run around of party members and they didn't mention it though. Her Cabinet of Wonders and codex entries change slightly. Her general dialogue - like the Skyhold party - just seemed to snap back onto the friendship path.

I feel like the breakups were assumed to mostly be a way out of content you don't like so they don't really react to it. Breaking the romance there worked quite well narratively I thought, or at least it works about as well as finishing it.

A theory about Sera, here.

So... Sera is Artemis?

I think if it was true though I'd assume the game had gone fully Monstrous Regiment and the whole party are gods in disguise.

Ah good. I thought I'd been really unobservant or something.

Well, we do know that whatever the heck the elves worshipped are real so who knows who could be an elven god these days :P

I doubt that Sera is one...though there's definitely some weird crap going on with her and Sola's in banter. I just think all elves have sensitivity to magic stuff even if they can't wield it.

Yeah, Solas/Sera dialogue got me like :?

Are elves indeed sensitive to magic? It is in codex or...

RoamingMachine, where are you. :P

Or maybe they don't. Sera's sensitivity could be a rare gift and that's why Solas is so frustrated with her. He does says she as far from what she is meant to be as possible. Maybe she has latent magical ability? It would fit with her uncanny ability with the bow. Cole comments on it: I like how you see where the arrow will land before it does. And her feelings of deja vu that Solas mentions...

Maybe Sera is a seeress?

I find it annoying when magic just becomes an excuse for being good at things, or the reason why everyone is good at things.

I don't think it's in the Codex but Solas (and others) have mentioned that all elves could use magic back in the day and this was 'part of being elven' so it seems like this is a racial trait.

Something happened and now not all elves have the power to use magic but there might be lingering traces of whatever made that possible for elves in the past.

I'm thinking faint magic stuff (for lack of a better word) might come to Sera in spurts but she's not powerful enough to do anything with it. It's small stuff like sensing a thin veil.

Sola's seems to be experimenting with her via the questions he's asking...like trying to figure out how and what she senses.

That's my theory at least.

Man I always wake up to so much good discussion. Damn time zones!!!

BC, I love your analysis. And if you started a thread I would back you up and contribute, character meta is my JAM.

Serza, you're my buddy, don't you dare leave!! I would be very sad. And it's all about me!!!! (But really tho <3)

Uh...let's see, I could write pages about how interesting Blackwall is and how his friendship with Sera is so important, I like Sandal and he should come back, and Danielle, that art is lovely!! I've just started commissioning a tarot card of my Quizzie, I'm sooooo excited for it!!

Oh and Sera/Solas banter is quickly becoming my favorite, actually, as I'm pairing them this run. When she asked him if he had ever pissed magic and he had to think about it, lmfaoooo.

That might be something too. Like a magical ability that manifests differently from most mages.

I guess that could be why magical stuff creeps her out.

Sorry guys. It was probably my fault as to why he isn't here right now. Hopefully he spots my PM. I can't stress this enough, I am sorry.  :crying:

If the theory that she was in that haunted orphanage is correct, perhaps she has a strong sensitivity to magic because of early exposure?

Serza logged out the same minute as that post, so we might be waiting for him to change his mind regardless of anyone's actions otherwise.

Pairing him with Sera is key. Varric is good too. The problem with BW is that he's trying to maintain this facade of righteousness, and Sera is one of the few he drops his guard around. Romanced and Clever Quizzie also gets his lighter side.
