In origins, hardening Leliana was about making her except the bard aspect of her life/personality. It was a positive change.
In DA: I, I feel like keeping Leliana unhardened is about preventing her from becoming the ruthless cold hearted killer you get a glimpse of in "In Hushed Whispers".
If we get a DLC that adds post main quest dialogue I will be very happy. It just feels so wrong that the characters suddenly grow tight-lipped. Job's done, don't want to talk to you anymore.
Yeah, when i finished the game i went back to Sera and.... wow.
"Sera. Why won't you talk to me anymore. Why not kiss me? SERA. Pay attention to me!"
At least it's better than DA2 where you don't even see your companions.

I wish the shards quest had more impact. We find some pretty disturbing stuff during it. Why oh why couldn't we get even a war table mission to publish this?

Yeah, lots of people have a problem with Cole's mind probing. He doesn't understand boundaries though. A banter with Cassandra reveals that his actions sometimes cause harm even though he means well. He doesn't understand at first, but he gets back to it to acknowledge she was right. Notice his tarot card is either black or white. Very fitting for his character. Funny thing: white is the result of combining all the colors in light. Black is the result of combining all the colors in things. Immaterial and material, fitting a more spirit or human Cole.

Well, Cole is a spirit. Logically he doesn't understand or know what boundaries are. All he wants is to help (indeed he can be bothersome sometimes bc he keeps resisting) but... he's a spirit.
Does human Cole acts like spirit Cole? Is there any difference after the human/spirit choices? I didn't took him with me much so i can't say.

Love that bit of analyzing there, didn't think of the implications on the cards themselves with Cole.. wow. But I don't think I could ever go with a playthrough of making him more Spirit - I had already decided that he needed (because he wanted) to be more human when I read the book... also Cole always seemed to desperately want to be remembered... heck he DIED because he was forgotten... and I think he deserves a second chance/to be remembered (but this is Sera's thread and she's probably aiming an arrow at me for talking about "creepy")

his banters are mostly the same - but he does differ a bit with some. but if you talk to him, he does talk about how he is learning more, and he remembers more. one instance he says he understands why something he did might've bothered Cullen so "maybe" he'll do it less (i sorta like how he said maybe, because it sort of shines in a way that Cole is learning to be playful) - I don't know if he tries knock-knock jokes a spirit. He starts to eat a bit and Blackwall sort of starts seeing him as someone needed to be cared for (almost father-like way. or uncle whatever - Solas and Varric are the more dad role-models for him) But it's a process... i'm sure in DLCs it would have more of a noticeable effect...

I know, it was sort of adorable. In one banter they have she says something threatening like "if he keeps talking I'll shoot an arrow through his creepy little eyes" But Cole doesnt think about that part (maybe he sees it as an empty threat) but focuses on "You... You called me "him" Thank you!" and wow he was so happy gahhh Cole
they sort of have something like an annoyed older sister and little brother trying realllly hard trying to get his sister to like him sort of relationship... it seemed.

Yeah He's too precious, but also he brings up things they would rather keep buried, I understand that feeling... but he doesn't understand and is only trying to help... Man I need to bring him with me more often... And... everyone the playthrough I just finished I brought Sera Dorian and Bull with me the most (Wanted to get Dorian and Bull together gosh darn it. stupid conversation bug... finally got them together before the end)
