Andraste existed even if Thedasians don't believe she was the Maker's bride/prophetess. Just like Jesus existed even if you don't believe he was the son of God/his prophet. So you can't really "believe" in Andraste (as the Maker's bride/prophetess) and not the Maker, although the flip side you can. Someone could believe in the Maker and not Andraste as his bride/prophetess.
