I think I read a twitter.. or maybe it was Gaider's blog.. where he mused after launch that he noticed people were hating the characters they expected to be hated. lol

So it's purposeful in their minds, I think.

I saw that very post. I believe that it was on Gaider's Twitter. They know what they're doing, and they've yet to create a companion character who has no redeeming features if you are willing to look for them.

All of it puts me off. I already hate Qunari. But I hate his particular brand of hedonistic machismo too. I spent the first half of my life with people like this. I don't know what I saw in it.

I liked Bull because I'm damn sure he was a rogue in another life since he shares many traits with my favourite DA characters.

Edit: Also, I have brothers like him so I had to take up karate to avoid being picked on.
That it began my lifelong love affair with martial arts was just a happy coincidence.

Well, I don't mean exactly like him. I just used to party a lot and hung around/ingratiated myself with guys like this. I was such a poser.. and an idiot. Hanging with other idiots.

He accepts a transgender man, a Dalish apostate woman and various others into his band. I don't think he's much like that type of guy if you look under the surface...
