I went from "awww, cute friends!!" to intense headcanons about them as a couple so. Uh, I'm for it.

It's an interesting friendship/headcanon romance/whatever considering Dagna's love of all things creepy magical weird.

But they definitely have lots in common (both atypical for their race, energetic, gifted, etc.)

Hmm. But she doesn't always call him Beardy right? I mean with Inky and so on it becomes Trix's name, that's how she always refers to her. Okay maybe that's just because of RPG dynamic naming, but still it seems to be a special thing.

I loaded a save with a broken romance to see if it happened in that as well and I just found mentions of burning the lock of Trix's hair. Now I feel terrible again.

She doesn't really have the whole nickname thing like Varric does, but if she chooses a nickname other than Inky, there's a particular meaning behind it, but she won't actually say what it is. Cole may reveal this in banter though. It seems like the nicknames "Buckles" and "Shiny" have sexual meanings behind them.

I don't know - I see Sera's dislike of magic - almost a fear of it and for those that have it rather than a real hatred.  Dagna can't be a mage, but she's trying to unlock it's secrets and that really isn't scary, just inquisitive, so a weird logic to the friendship/romance perhaps?

is there a story about gaider and tumblr asks or something? cause I don't follow that stuff but every since I joined here, I see a growing or already present contention for him. I only remember following one person on tumblr who had an...issue with him concerning poc but that's about it.

@veeia I sort of feel that I feel like you regarding Viv's character but I still haven't gotten the words down to say what exactly bothers me about how she was written. So i've been silent.

She takes it about as well as a plane losing a wing. The cabinet kind of rams it home because there's this build up of lovely memories there which either disappear or get otherwise savaged. That said her dialogue makes her seem fine afterwards so she recovers quickly or puts on one hell of a brave face.

 

Thing is I don't really like the idea of the story locking into an everlasting love thing. Inquisition's depiction of Lel and the Warden just seemed odd to me.

I'm very fond of Gaider as a writer and I'm sure he's a lovely person, but he's made some...Idk, unprofessional choices on Tumblr and Twitter, and consequently has upset a lot of people who I think had genuine reason to feel upset but then have become hyperbolic in their hatred, and then he pokes at them or complains about them, and it gets louder and. Lmao. It's all a mess. I feel bad for him but I also don't think he realizes how when he publicly makes fun of someone he makes them a target for all kind of other fans to mock, and I've been there (with a comic book writer who was being super sexist and I asked him about it (calmly, nicely!) and then his army of angry fanboys sent me lots of rape and death threats it was fun times) so I'm not as sympathetic as I could be, I suppose. 

 

I'm sort of tired of it on both fronts, tbh. But that's why I don't use tumblr as much anymore, and why I'm more selective here too. Tired of people's crap.

That said, its these small insights into the characters that make them more fleshed out and feel more real. Your not the only one enjoying all the small details they've added to the game.

I have ideas for several short stories with character interactions. The 'Ragequisitor' will probably call out Josephine on being a bully. I think a picnic will happen at some point too.

 

Then I'm planning something with Dorian. Possibly a chess game story.

 

Character pieces, basically.

I did that already... I'm not sure how Leliana would react to her friend being called a bully though... She would probably get mad... I need to do that 'the inner circle gets therapy' fic I was thinking about. A mix of drama and comedy. That would do nicely.
