Welp this catch up has been... interesting.
About Sera possibly being booted out at any time, perhaps it might have something to do with her being a Red Jenny operative yunno if you think her shady gang of "do-gooders" could disrupt the Inquisition in some way I dunno maybe that's why she's available for removal throughout the game. Just a thought as I have heard others speculate other reasons on this plenty.
Also about the trans remark erm I can't really label Sera of being transphobic over one line, and I'm not overly familiar with this side of the community so I'm not comfortable saying anything else on the matter as it is obviously a sensitive matter to many.

Wooot! Did you end up calling them or did it just fix itself?
This right here is the key. I don't think that Sera is or isn't transphobic. I think that it's pretty much impossible tell either way based on one comment that can be interpreted in more than one manner. Even if we read the remark as you do, then it's quite possible that Sera would just need a quiet chat about misgendering and never make the mistake again. I don't think that we can say anything with certainty as we have no other comments from her to go on.
She'd probably still hate the person in question for being a noble, but that's a separate issue.
Pretty much. Splitting hairs doesn't really work here. I have no idea if she is transphobic or not and I don't believe I have enough evidence to support either side of the argument.
That's the point - WildOrchid didn't say it was open to interpretation, but claimed it's been proven by that source that Sera was just citing what she overheard:
The comment wasn't Sera's opinions. Users on tumblr confirmed it.
And that source claimed there were quotation marks which is a lie.
I didn't say WildOrchid lied, she just believed some source which claimed untrue things. Maybe she didn't remember that dialogue very well. But it will be another story if she keeps bringing that tumblr note to conversations about that remark even after all that has been pointed out to her.
I seem to recall someone repeatedly citing a dubious source as proof that Sera was not intended to be a lesbian, despite having it pointed out that the "proof" was anything but.
If you want to apply a rule like that, it's only fair to apply it to everyone equally. Being selective about rules, using them only when it suits your position, isn't a productive way to discuss anything.

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure there were different reasons why it became such a problem. From what I've read for many trans people misgendering disrespectful he-she comments is something that they have to deal with on day-to-day basis. For other people, it was just another excuse to hate Sera. I personally above all feel disappointed that writers chose to have her say something like that, as I have no idea how they could not know how people will read it.
Let's have a gif party!
I should really collect some gifs for these occasions.

Hope you don't mean me, because I never did such a thing. What I did was expressing concerns about such possiblity, caused by the fact that there was line voiced by male PC voice actor for Sera's romance. And I posted link to Reddit thread with a video showing that.
I never lied about anything nor stated that any of my concerns are fact. I also cited comment of someone from thread about Cullen's bisexuality that Danaduchy found no male romance lines in Sera's files.
So please don't twist things around in attempt to make me look bad.
It sucks that she can be booted, but not... say.. Iron Bull. "You don't fit the Inquisition".. My ass. She's a do gooder Andrastian who looks out for common folk and is neutral on mage/templars. Wtf else is the Inquisition about?
How about the Qunari? He's more out of place. Even Dorian knows the Inquisition is just a proxy for Chantry types...yet I can't boot the Qun. I had to resort to deleting my character just to get rid of his ass. lol
Really? there isn't any way to drive him away? I thought you could drive everybody but one or two characters off?
I didn't have to boot Sera, she happily chose to leave because I wouldn't indulge her childish whims the 1st playthrough, 2nd playthrough because I was being too elfy, she called me a B* and took off
Edit: But I do agree the premise of kicking someone out because they don't fit your Inquisition should apply Iron Bull as well. Heck, depending on how you want to run your specific Inquisition, it could really apply to any companion, but Iron Bull as a Qunari definitely is as much of an unusual fit as Sera, if not more so.

Perhaps there is.. Maybe it takes some time investment in racking up disapproval. I was impatient. ![]()

It seems to have fixed itself, but I did fiddle with some wires this morning and entered in other connection info I found on a PSN site so maybe I dunno, lol it's working again happy enough. ![]()
How do people feel about the ending to Sera's romance?
"Flower Pot?" What even? Sera you crazy.
........ the brain goes all 'get off my lawn!'.
**Opens my front door, old crochety man that I am, walking with my cane, casually taking out a tacky 70s folding lawn chair, setting it up on my lawn. Goes back inside, and returns, this time with some claymores, electric fencing, anti-tank rockets, and small Fuel Air Bomb, just in case ya know, setting them up around my folding chair, and a giant red STAY OFF sign. Eyes everyone suspiciously and shakes my cane at all of you**
....MINE.....
**my lawn, safe, known, my happy place....other people changing my lawn...bad...scary...DIFFERENT!!! Stay off the old mans lawn!**
Street - I don't know, I actually can't find anything on it, granted a 10 min search isn't exhaustive, but others like Sera and Blackwall pop right up..maybe you can't kick him out.
I completely get the impatience factor, and it is far simpler just to not recruit him int he first place, after all he is a Qunari Spy

I take it IB isn't gonna make your Xmas card list next season then. ![]()
I wonder if you don't recruit him how much would it affect the game? I had many characters in DA games that I didn't like myself for one reason or another but I still recruited em if I had too. I dunno I just don't like missing out on content.
I reckon that once you're inquisitior everyone should be bootable with the possible exception of Cassandra...

He doesn't matter if you don't recruit. He's all "Alright.. Peace out." *vanish*
But no, no Xmas card for him.
I usually keep companions around too, but he's deplorable. I waited for this game for 3 years, got all hyped for some epic fantasy shite, and wanted a playthrough on a more serious Chantry note.. and then this guy comes along who's like every other jackass I know living down the street. Didn't inspire epic or serious. He's for people with a better/sicker sense of humor than I. ![]()

This.
You're the inquisitor for damn's sake.

I think I'd prefer companions being fixed so they didn't have to create as many contingency plans for them not being around. Or so they can go all out with people dying.

I'm trying to think. Most of the time, I only booted companions before for some RP/thematic reason. Like I built up a story of a circle mage who couldn't stand Wynne. Even though I personally don't think she's that bad. Or like, my Cousland killed Nathaniel.. because he's a resentful dick.
Bull just bothers me on a gut level.
Let's have a gif party!
Where's Hermione?
Unless that's the match where she turns Snape on fire...?
