I never really knew what to say in bad times.

It's a flaw I'm not proud of.

And maybe the odd bit of optimism mixed it?

I mean, it always gets better over time, right?

I hope so. If it doesn't...

It is better, in most cases, isn't it?

Well.. Cat and Orchid seem to have got better. I think Danielle feels she did the right thing despite ongoing problems. She has said in the past that she does have supportive friends despite family issues. It seems like Artemis is earlier in her journey, but she seems to be on the right track.

I do think that life gets better for most as we grow older, learn to accept and feel comfortable with ourselves, learn what to care about and what's pointless to worry over. Not that life is ever easy or that it never throws you a curve ball, but yeah, I think it does mostly get better.

Also I think that the internet, despite its flaws, is good at showing us that we're not alone in the world...

Also I haven't seen Vapaa around these parts since I took my DAI blackout before the US release. *thinking out loud again*

Page 1944. Seems like a good time to join in with Serza and post my Granddad's D-Day flashes again...

Very true.

1944. Operation Overlord. Operation Market-Garden. Operation Dragoon. The death of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - related to the war more than most may think. Monte Casino. The return to Philippines. Warsaw Uprising. The Surrender of Paris. The Slovak National Uprising. The Battle of Peleliu.

I pop in to have a look and now I am thinking about the Second World War and where everyone was (familial) at that time. Grandfather would have been on an American airbase in England right now running radio operations and courting my grandmother on his r&r's in London. Great-grandfather would have been in Italy making drawings and paintings for the war office. Glad they made it through. I had a great-uncle who would have been in France fighting with the American army and some other great-uncles on ships in the Pacific. None of them liked to talk about the war much. My grandmother would tell me of the blitz on London and my grandfather was more fond of speaking of the fun he had in Germany with the occupation army.

Happy New Year!

Ruby Rose. I remember because I asked her if it was her and I wanted to say she was pretty, but it wasn't her.  :(

Edit: That actually makes me sound like a perv, doesn't it?

*Semi-abandoned my Josie run, created another elf last night, I'm weak*

Lol I just caught this, no matter all we have in common is a similar haircut and the gayness.

Question, did most of you lot drink from the well or not? As I've yet to do this in any of my runs but in my Josie one I will and bring Sera along as I heard she points an arrow in your face if you do.

So you're still pretty? The hair style gets me going... but I know you're into ladies so I'll just be in your wardrobe.

Sera does that? Why would she do that? I want to see it now.

It's a test. She means well.

She's just afraid you're... uh... unwell.

Well these last few pages have invoked some interesting feelings.

I'm in 2015 now, so Happy New Year Sera thread. May it bring you good memories.

Question, did most of you lot drink from the well or not? As I've yet to do this in any of my runs but in my Josie one I will and bring Sera along as I heard she points an arrow in your face if you do.

Drank from the well. I kind of reasoned an elf should be the one getting the data.

Yeah. I'm Drank and I brought Sera with me. She says "Tadwinks? If you're dead I'll kill you." And the way she said iiiiiit..

See, she does care.

You should say "strewth", "drongo" and "fair dinkum" more often... *nods sagely*

I say old bean, that's laying it on a bit thick isn't it?

I did it for the achievement before I reloaded and let Morrigan have the fun.

I am, however, tempted to actually let my elf drink from it. But then again I'm playing on Nightmare and can't afford a dragon fight of that caliber

on a Happy Note

1944 - No Video games, practically no equality for any group compared to educated white males, no internet, and no minority representation in media, which was essentially still primarily Radio, and, oh yes, culturally ethnic groups were be slaughtered, in some cases systematically by the millions.....

2014 - (While still lots needing to be done of course) but, Massive Amazing visual Video Games like Dragon Age, comparably a great deal of progress in equal rights or at least awareness and public pressure for equality for many groups, we haz de intrnetz (which has allowed Cats to take over the world from the stoopid hoomans), and we have Krem, who from my WASP Male perspective at least, seems a badass and non stereotypical representation, and, compared to the world of 1944, more of the world is at peace.  Certainly not all and certainly we are not 'peaceful' as a planet, but more peace than 1944.

A lot still needs to be done, but I still marvel at progress (good and bad), that humanity has had, even in those 70 years.

Even more so if you think about the past few centuries.  Look at 1714 to 1814, then 1814 to 1914, and now 1914 to 2014....  the the amount of development, especially technologically....its astounding...to me at least.

We've been wonderfully inventive over the past few centuries. Here's a 5MB hard drive being loaded onto an airplane from 1956:

Meanwhile, Sera's character alone wouldn't fit on that hard drive. Magic!

Can you imagine walking Sera over to the room, or possible ROOMS of hard drives and say "look this is you! you're HUGE"
