In my first playthrough right now, I'm enjoying Sera's character so far haven't seen anything that I've seen as controversial as I've heard from her. She was big in helping me take down my first dragon though!

I don't think the theory is accurate, but it's interesting and fun to consider, at least the way it was presented there, not when someone is using it to beat up Sera and justify their theory with "this makes her have a point/be interesting."

Finally did Mythal. Did "the ultimatum scene". Yeah that would be pretty crappy if Tressa believed that the elven gods were actually worth worshipping, and not just yet more powerful magical creatures. She doesn't, though, so she let it lie, even though she does actually believe that there's reality behind the legends, and she certainly doesn't believe that the maker is any more of a true god than the elven ones, if he even exists. Time to get the rest of Emprise du Leon and Hissing Wastes done before I finally finish this playthrough, but first... Bed.

Considering creating my first ever dwarf as a 5th playthough to romance Blackwall. Thoughts?

Cool as any theory is, I'm not sure whether they mean anything if they aren't acted on. I guess I can understand them being in there simply as lore puzzles for those so inclined - which are never confirmed so they don't actually mess anything up.

 

My only real problem with her being a secret goddess vessel thing, is that I don't think she needs to be. She's already an interesting, complex character.

 

Who is the person who gives that lousy ultimatum in that scene??? I don't know why you're purposely ignoring facts here. Sera doesn't allow a devout elven Inquisitor to stay in the romance AND hold onto their values, it is either submit to my views on this or I'm dumping you. There is no middle ground here, there is no way both can stay in the romance with differing religious beliefs unless a devout Inquisitor rejects their beliefs and purposely feeds into the lie that yes Sera what you saw at the Temple was all demons just to calm her down and in doing so is lying to her which is wrong in itself, it's deceitful, not a healthy way to resolve what happened at the Temple for both parties.

 

I always get nervous about jumping into these debates because I'm never confident I can remember the exact wording, but my take is that Sera isn't asking Trix to renounce her beliefs, she's asking her to tell her something reassuring. Now, that's still a big deal - I mean a lot of people have chosen to die (horribly) rather than say something that contradicts their faith.

 

Given how weak the agreeing with Sera is, I'm inclined to think it is defiantly supposed to be a lie rather than faith crumbling for love. That is, it didn't sound to me like Lavellan was renouncing anything, or that they had chagned as a result. So I guess for me the question is can Lavellan put up with Sera's insensitivity, rather than choosing between love and faith.

Question, did most of you lot drink from the well or not? As I've yet to do this in any of my runs but in my Josie one I will and bring Sera along as I heard she points an arrow in your face if you do.
