Do we know who Sera is voiced by? I've heard people speculating that she is voiced by that one female from Mean Girls.

There hasn't been a confirmation yet. From what I could hear from the video (which wasn't much), she sounded a bit like Grey Delisle to me.

For the same reason there is no homophobia really. Thedas doesnt really have that issue, so using homophobia as a justification for biphobia just doesnt make sense
There is, but it seems less pervasive and judgmental- it's about bloodlines moreso than morals in Thedas.

It still makes little sense, and i sincerely hope they dont make the lesbian option biphobic, it would ruin the character in so many ways.

I don't foresee that being the case, however if she's monogamous, she'd have a reasonable expectation for her SO to not cheat on her, and be reasonably upset. It depends on situation.

I don't know for sure because I was straining to hear Sera over the dev and the crowd, but I thought it sounded like her. I don't think it's implausible, though. Grey would be amazing as Sera.

I would be extremely suprised if she's voiced by somebody putting on that accent of hers, and off the top of my head I can't actually think of any particularly famous Lancastrian (maybe? I'm rubbish with northern accents) actors who might fit the bill of what we've heard so far. So I'm guessing it's going to be an English actress that, when announced, most of us will not have heard of and some of us Brits will go "oh I know her, she was on Waterloo Road" or similar.

*shrugs* Like I said, I didn't hear her that well. The dev (Mark?) was talking over her when I heard her voice. I could be wrong.

i mean, yes there is a reason that gay/lesbian people do that, but that doesn't really excuse it. My gf is Bi. In fact, she leans more to men than women. Does that mean I should freak out if she thinks a guy is cute on the TV? Or act wildly if she talks about guys she used to like, and even "the one that got away?" no. The media does like to show Bisexuals end up with opposite sex partners, nearly all the time. And yeah that can hurt LGQ+ feelings or make them feel insecure, but that doesn't really excuse it.
imagine being bi, and 1 half of people sexualize you or make you into some sex fiend, or even try to use your sexuality for their own gratification. And the other demonizes you because you are not like them and they fear your "hetero side" as if there were sides half and half and not an identity in itself. Erasure. And also the forcing to choose and even by loved ones asked to never talk about part of your identity.
At least we have a community, but Bi people don't. Or at least have to fight to have a place in the community. labels have helped us a lot realize who we are, but it also set us at each other's throats.
This.

But what if he lied about being a compulsive liar? Wouldn't a compulsive liar lie about that?

I was talking about why there are gay people who would react differently over their partner cheating on them with the opposite-sex. About how homophobia destroys the self worth of some and brings about the feeling that that is worse. I'm talking about an act. Nothing about vilifying bisexuals and nothing about people who are scared to date bisexuals. ![]()

Except that is one of the things biphobia is based on. The fact of the matter is, bisexual people have it a lot worse off than LGQ+ people in a lot of ways, and personal hang-ups shouldn't take precedence over the safety of bisexual people.
Like, I get where you're coming from, but it's not actually useful to prioritize monosexuals' feelings over multisexuals.
Anyway...
I don't get why people think Varric would be limited to a dwarf romance. I could see him being straight for a couple of reasons, but why only dwarves? He's only expressed disinterest in humans, not the other races.

I am awful with voice actors. From what I could hear of Sera, she didn't sound like anyone I recognise buuut then again I watched quite a few episodes of Waterloo Road once and kept wondering why the headteacher was familiar and in the end I IMDB'd him and saw he was Sebastian in DA2. Soooo yeah XD I get the feeling when we finally know who she is, it will be one of those 'why didn't I see it sooner!?!?' times ![]()
