Our little secret.
They said loudly, standing on the stage in a public forum.
Nah, she's starting from a flawed set of premises. Even if X being true means Y is false, when it's not possible to know for sure which is true without personal faith, then one person believing in X doesn't preclude the other believing Y or vice versa. She's creating a false dichotomy. You're mistaken about that. Sera is putting the Principle of contradiction and the Principle of the excluded middle into practice where the matter of the two faiths are concerned, with the logical framework she's applying is that either X (Andrastianism) or Y (the Dalish faith) is true, but that they can't both be. So since she believes that X is true, insisting that Y is true is telling her that X is false. You can choose to argue that she's wrong about which belief is false, but the logic is solid even if the conclusion she choose to draw isn't ultimately the correct one.
Scared sh*tless that I've run out of time to draw up a poster for Uni.
Spent to much time procrastinating and even now, when I should be working, I'm watching The Dark Knight.
Who could that ever possibly remind me of...?

Yourself maybe? I don't know.

I should be studying some history-related things for an exam in some... HOLY CRAP THREE DAYS!
Instead, I'm here, and watching some X-COM Enemy Within.

We'll hash it all out in 2 days. Until then, we continue to p*ss about like we haven't got a care in the world. ![]()

That's about the typical student attitude I saw...
With me. My fellow students, not so much.

You don't study as much as you should so you don't achieve as much as you should.

All I have to do is draw up a poster and do... something with ratio. No idea what to do with that but the poster, I've got a pretty good idea with what I'm gonna do.
She's creating a false dichotomy.
Since the Chant of Light says "there is but one God" she is not doing any such thing.
How do you figure?
Seems pretty obvious to me that's exactly what she's doing.

David, why do you continue this fight? Can you not just agree to disagree? You are trying to prove an answer that we have no idea whether it is true or not.

think the irony is that she was adopted by assumingly a noble and is a bit hypocritical in that regardSo to change the subject for a minute. I expected the human noble play through to have issues, with Sera disliking nobles so much but really it was kind of plain. I was looking forward to having to prove to Sera that nobles could be good but it really didn't feel like I had too. My noble became a reaver but it didn't matter but my elf mage gets a comment for becoming a rift mage.
Nobody is fighting here tbh, we're discussing calmly. As long as it's in a respectful manner, i don't see why we should move on with the discussion.
Besides it's about Sera.

I haven't played a Trev for more than a few minutes but it seems to me Sera basically judges people on how they behave not how they're born.

That's a bit too on topic for this thread.

Based on that, saying you don't believe in the chant of light means that you are wrong in her eyes. It does not mean that you are trying to force her to change her own mind. That where the leap of logic lies. The one does not necessarily imply the other.
To put it in mathematical terms:
Being wrong (or disagreeing) =/= Trying to change Sera's mind, however much she may choose to think that it is. I agree that she sees it that way, but her logic is flawed.
I should also note here that you're suggesting that Sera's Andrastean faith is more fundamentalist than either that of Cassandra or Leliana, both of whom demonstrate tolerance for other beliefs. Heck, Leliana might have a Dalish elf as her lover. These are the candidates for the next Divine! Have you heard Sera's banters with Bull? She's not devout at all!
