its a adhective to describe a divergence(a change )Divergent? I've seen that movie.
But anyway, what does Divergent mean? And what is this theory you need help with?

oh crap, what is coming from extracted game files? what is this crap theory? helllllp a neurally divergent lady out
Approval numbers.
So,
Slightly Approves/Disapproves is +/- 1
Approves/Disapproves is +/- 5
Greatly Approves/Disapproves is +/- 20 (that's a big jump)
That explains why it takes a lot longer to unlock all of Sera's friendship dialog if I ally with the Mages vs. the playthroughs were I conscript the Templars.

Another great thing is that it will never vary. So Greatly Dissapproves will always be -20. It won't suddenly be -50 or -30.

Damn that explains why it took me so long to get Solas to date my Lav after I aided Templars and allied with them and then punched him
....
Anyway, Thanks guys!

I don't know why they didn't just include those approval numbers ingame somewhere. Seems like it would save a lot of confusion having such an intuitive implementation of the mechanic.
In order to avoid making it gamey.

Considering Freud had serious mommy issues, his theories about sexuality are dubious at best.
Nah, that's not why Freud's psychology was bad. That's just using a Freudian explanation to discredit Freudian explanations, which doesn't really work. Freud's psychology was bad because his methodology was bad and because he made bad assumptions. Bringing his own sexuality, or his drug habits, or whatever into the mix is just noise.

I do like the way the companions talk to you based on their approval over the number

You're clearly supposed to figure it out from the way they talk to you. I just think it's pointless omitting the actual numbers behind it when they could make understanding the mechanic that much simpler.I do like the way the companions talk to you based on their approval over the number

An approval meter is too gamey but the power and influence meters are not... I don't know what they were thinking.

How do Sera and Nasir get along?
Pretty well, all told. From what I remember, they had only a few things that they really didn't see eye to eye on, like the events in Mythal. It was funny for Nasir to say he believes in the Elven stories (which he does considering he had just met FleMythal at this point) and for Sera to go "WTF DON'T SAY THAT YOU SOUND ELFY.... AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN AN ELF!!!".
Not that he's gonna worship the Creators or anything, but he acknowledges their existence and I think starts to believe all the religions in the world are true. He knows there's something going on with the Stone since he believes in it, Mythal is/was real, etc.
But otherwise, they got along pretty well. They enjoyed sticking it to the nobles and helping the people and the one dude in her quest Nasir questioned a couple times but eventually just said "You know what? **** it. Kill him." because he didn't bring anything new to the table that they didn't otherwise have elsewhere.
Also, they enjoyed pranking the advisors together.
They're good friends who enjoy the company of the other and eat cookies together and everything.
Nasir actually got along well with almost everyone. The only person he was really having trouble with was Vivienne. Not out of hatred or anything, but their approaches to things were very different -- and sadly, I can't accurately convey Nasir's opinions to Vivienne, as he doesn't believe in just the Circle or just freedom. He has a complex outlook.
I'm thinking that'll change for my current run of him though -- not his outlook, just how he and Vivienne get along. I'm sure there's some way to get her to high approval without compromising my character.

You don't have a power meter.
Yes you do. On the pause menu you see your total amount of power and you get those +1-2-3 whatever notifications every time you close a rift. It might not be technically a meter, but it's still gamey.

I thought that Tressa's story went so well that it might be my canon playthrough right off the bat. Then Vivienne got made Divine... Arse.
But Vivienne is good as Divine.

Tbf, the power meter is basically the Inquisition's XP so it's somewhat needed like the PC XP meter
While the approval bar can be determined by how you companions speak to you

At this point, I'm loving running around with Sera. Especially with Vivienne in the party, as some of their banter is hilarious.
If I could justify having 2 archers, I bet she and Varric probably have funny dialogue, but for now, Cass is my only well-equipped tank, so... ![]()
