So started my nightmare run... already getting my arse handed to me... thought it was biggerXD

I've heard mages have it roughest early on Nightmare.
As I don't like playing mages, I can't confirm this but I will say that my archer run has been quite easy if a little boring.

It's pretty hard to NOT die VERY quickly, if someone breaks a flask on their chest plate, only to stab you a thousand times before you can react.

 

 

That's how I imagine Thousand Cuts lore-wise. A very much upgraded, by far more badass, extremely so, Flask of Lightning.

Plus, Sera is already a Goddess while Cory-****** is just pretending to be one.

 

It's like watching a termite try desperately to conquer the sky. The poor fool never stood a chance. Sad really.

It's true, I can attest to that. Sometimes I feel like in a Benny Hill show, but it gets better once you gain access to Static Cage or Fire Mine.

Or grab a fire staff, barrier up a tank, and friggin' let loose all WMDs in your arsenal.

Funny. I guess I like my Nightmare runs extra nightmarish then. Picked a Mage instead of my Rogue Comfort Zone. Trying to romance Sera as a First.

those are not little cuts. the damage indicator tells you, numerically, how much hurt is being applied. I've saw that joint push out 2000+ points of damage at a time. That ain't no spring chicken...or something.

With... a dagger... yeah... Iron Bull would never do that damage with a giant axe, but okay. Look, I love Sera, she's powerful, I just think that skill is the definition of the "awesome button", something they did not care to make plausible, just "cool and super powerful!"

I haven’t tried Nightmare, or even Hard, and I’m not someone who takes a lot of time to learn things maybe I should (combos? I’m sure Blackwall is right on top of that), so I’m not doing things very skillfully. I’m just having fun with going through the story.

But I was still surprised on my second playthrough when I was like “Sure, focus skill upgrade, I’ll take two” and Sera and I started with the dual synchronized Thousand Cuts (we practiced when no one was looking).
