Thinking about how to best play a 2h warrior, I realize that an elf likely makes the best 2h warrior. The biggest problem with 2h warriors early on is their lack of defense, especially the damage they take vs archers. +25% extra ranged defense would help a lot in that regard.
Also, listen to Alexia, introverted_assassin. The Horny Legion is the only official way to romance Sera (just joking).

Charge (i think the skill is called that. The one where you rush and smash through everything)+whirlwind=roflstomp all the ranged squishies. It's really a problem VERY early on in my experience. The thing with 2-hander is that with a dual-blade rogue, you need to actively control the character at all times as the AI is crap so planning through the tactical cam gets a bit tricky.

I got an xbox controller for my PC and I'm actually frustrated now, because holy crap, it is so much easier to play...like tac cam??? Clunky still but not like.."..I wanna set everyone on fire bcuz how the hell"
I mean the "this game is unplayable" complaints about the PC version are obviously crap, I had 300 hours before I switched, but...I get where, underneath all the hyperbole, they are coming from.

I had enough trouble accepting this scene and the subsequent beheading that Tressa did, let alone playing a whole game like that. The sword is practically as big as her! ![]()

Hey guys! [pats everyone's heads]

The problems I have with tac cam are that it doesn't zoom out far enough and you have to follow scenery as if you were walking on the ground. Neither of those have to do with keyboard and mouse. I have no issue controlling it.
Oh and I finally did the dance with Sera!! Eee!!. I love how Quizzie is the one who asks for it on the balcony, all the other LI I've done initiate it....which I thought I might prefer, but it's so stinking cute the way it went down.
But why can't you see it? Why does it fade out so quickly? *wails*

Controllers are rad, though you have to put up with no rebinding and for some inane reason being forced to use voice activated mic in multiplayer.
And no Breeches! I never actually stopped to check first time through.
Considering how by default no armour means clothes for the Inquisitor, I'm wondering how much effort it was to have no breeches squad.

I'm content with the scene as is. Mostly because of the euphemism quip.

Yeah I'm not sure... If they did special models why don't they have boots, though?Considering how by default no armour means clothes for the Inquisitor, I'm wondering how much effort it was to have no breeches squad.
I loved the scene in general, and that's kind of why I was disappointed not to see more of the dance, especially as we find out how important it was to Sera afterwards.I'm content with the scene as is. Mostly because of the euphemism quip.

very tempted to roll an elf for Sera. My Piscean tendencies are kicking in. I like challenges. Tempting.
I went for Sera as an elf (and a mage no less) on my first playthrough. Getting her to overcome your elfiness and mageyness is quite fun.

That is obviously a polystyrene prop sword.

Did you go and look at the view from the side of the approach road? There are so many castles in that valley!

To make it clearer that they aren't wearing breeches. I'm guessing, there could be any number of reasons for how and why that scene is as it is, but it's a nice attention to detail regardless.

For sure. It's just that stepping back, I think it was a really good use of setting up a fade to black to give a whole sense of scene happening without it actually happening.
Hehehe.
Too soon.

Also the ruined bit at the top where you meet the Lord Seeker sort of reminded me of Caergwrle castle, which is near where my mum grew up and right next to where my auntie still lives...

Yeah! The countryside in that place is what I love the most about the area.
Caer Oswyn. That's an interesting name, too, because Caer is the Welsh word for castle, and in DA the Celtic stuff is generally associated with elves, but I don't think that this castle was supposed to be anything other than human in origin, or am I misremembering?

That... does look similar, I admit.

I just had the mental image of elf quizzy, trying to keep that sword on air and... fails and thanks to sword's weight, fells with it into the bushes.
What a dramatic intro.
I think that would be a far more realistic version of the scene! ![]()

So much thin arm hate...
I have no thin arm hate! I am a slightly built person myself. That's one of the reasons I like playing as elves, and also women. I just can't identify with the musclebound macho men you tend to get if you play as a male human. It's also one reason that I tried (and failed) to get my human rogue to look like Nathan Fillion. He's quite broad shouldered and I was trying at least to have my character resemble someone I like...
I just don't see myself lugging around a massive great sword...

Ha, video games have a special understanding of anatomy. I think the wrong parts of the 80s may have been far too influential on the medium.

Swords aren't supposed to be heavy. On the other hand they aren't supposed to be that big either.
