I think she's probably the best written character in the game, but the rest of the gang is such a group of dramatic bags of cats that people overlook her flaws and are just like THANK GOD SANITY.

But she's self righteous, hypocritical, overly harsh and rigid, and often patronizing.

(I don't hate her for that those are reasons I love her, but they're also enough for me to get why people would dislike her for that)

I just ended up feeling very indifferent about her and tried to avoid using her for missions where I did not need to which became easier at a point. But outside of Varric and Cassandra (who shine more in DAI) I preferred the chars in Origins. Didn't hate the gang in DA2 just...*shrugs*

IMO Aveline gets all lawful good at times but then other times she's like "well WE are good people so it's ok for us to break the law".

I mean she kind of has to be that way for the game to work, and it's believable and human and I love her for it and she's not that simple, you can't just call her that because she's always struggling with what's right and how that relates to the law, but if you weren't in her inner circle, and just some random guard, you'd probably think she was hypocritical.

Nothing! Lawful Good is one of my favorite character types, actually. And probably partially because it's not something anyone can really live up to, because it demands no compromises and a level of rigidity no one can realistically keep without destroying themselves, so it always leads to interesting stories like Aveline's!

aaah. I remembered when my hawke had a tiny crush on aveline, but she still helped her get together with Donic (whatever his name is).

well Truth be told....in BG2...Paladin need the lawful good and I loved playing as one . But my favorite alignement was always chaotic Good . But Alas...by end game my Alignement always shift to lawful Good no matter what..cose I do too much goodie stuff  So by the end I resigned myself to just go with lawful Good...since it end up there anyway...
