I didn't find KE as fun to play as I hoped. It felt like button mashing. Not like, mindless, but just...literally mashing a lot of buttons. Rift Mage is awesome tho. Hoping to try out Neuromancer eventually.

I disagree that rogues aren't fun to play though. I have a soft spot for DW, even though it can be tricky/frustrating, but I've never even been into playing archers before and it's just legit fun in this game.

In the previous DA games, I preferred warrior. In DA: I, however, I feel like rogues are a lot more fun to play. That said, mages are masters of control now. 2h warriors just aren't as good, which is a shame since a Qunari just seems made for 2h warrior in my eyes.

They arent fun..if...well ya know...ya arent into rogues . Ya know..like one like to drive automatic cars..and say its fun . Some dont.....it doesnt mean it isnt fun..it just mean it isnt fun for that person and thats fine....

 

I like Mages and warrior as second although Mages is more fun for me . 

 

But fun fact: I sucked at Mages class in every other games..like Nwn and BG2...

 

And in Swtor..OMG!..i found out I rocked as a Healer class... I was converting peoples to Sorc by the mass in the end...

It has some really nice combos. Leaping shot to gain optimal distance for long shot. Poison weapons + explosive shot to poison a group of enemies. 

 

For this run I'll be testing out DW Tempest with Sera. Should be fun.

Fair point.

I've never liked playing mages and only by constantly switching to Zevran or Isabela was I able to stick with my mage and warrior runs.

I just suck at rogue class..no matter what . 

 

Some class just ya feel confy and have a blast playing them..took me forever to find that class that fit me well..and its Mage . I'm a lazy player..I like to be stationary alot....the whole move around and run after an ennemy is a pain for me...

 

Thats why a Mage is fun , I can stand in one point and blast them from afar .

I prefer playing it at close quarters actually that way I can take care of crowd control while Varric and Sera murder everything else.

Solas is pretty much just there for Pull of the Abyss and Static Cage.

Oh yeah sorry, Alexia, I didn't mean it like YOURE WRONG, just that I think they're super fun to play in the game...well DW I will admit is just my jam, but archer has all the flipping and strafing and satisfying lining up a shot from a long ways away and BAM down before they see ya so even if it's not any one persons cup of tea, it's not a boring rogue archer class like in so many other games. But people like what they like and should play what is fun to them, hehe.

I mean Mother Giselle in game is pretty obnoxious but in some derail of some awful thread daveliam and I came up with a headcanon that she's a translady lesbian who is all repressed but once she's a LI in da4 you get to have kinky forbidden priestess sexy times with her so that's made me very fond of her.

Mother Giselle... I would have liked to see to see the scene where Sera asks her about religion (she possibly does if the Quizzy is religious). That would have been hilarious.

 

And I figured out who my new Inquisitor looks like. He looks like a character from Heavy Rain: Ethan Mars.

But... DA was more relevant at the time I stopped lurking. And then I met good people here...

And I just don't really need to visit the ME board to have a good chat. Besides, we're contantly off topic, so ME's bound to come up every now and then.

 

I can only play on casual, I am so terrible at shooting that I have to laugh at myself. If I didn't have companions I'd never get through the game. I enjoyed the story though.

Trust me, it's so bloody easy in Mass Effect. Try to do that in ArmA. 300 meter range, quickly do the ballistics counting, elevation, take the wind in account, enemy movement...

Mass accelerators are a treat to engage with, due to their insane muzzle velocity and near-instant impact on target (Yeah, this is one of the few games that actually has a lore excuse for bullets impacting where you aim no matter the distance)

I feel like that. Also constant gunfire sounds in a game start to get old very fast.

 

But I have a friend who played the ME games several times, so... different.

 

I got used to the constant sound of gun discharge in games, to be honest...

 

Sera was designed after Trevor from GTA V. 

 

I'm far from a big Trevor's fan, but it seems he is easily the gamers' favorite character.

 

Even for a game like GTA, I thought Trevor or completely out of place. He was over. Most of his missions had bad tastes or didn't made sense at all (someone is covered in his own sh*t, later he will appear naked sleeping on the bridge, next mission he will appear sh*ting...95% of the time he is yelling and/or saying he will kill someone.

 

For me its clear he was designed to be some kind of Trevor of Thedas.

Do we know who did Giselle's voice? Because to me she sounds like a native English speaker who's discovered how to do a French R sound and thinks that's all she needs to be convincing. I'm probably wrong and she's someone like Corinne Kempa's best mate or something.

I totally knew that rift mage would be Alexia's thing, the way she loves Asari biotics and likes to shout "Singulariteeeeeeeeeee!" It's totally the equivalent of Adept in ME...

What's the deal with Sera having a preference for quanri's? I haven't noticed any of the other romance options in the game being like that. Kinda bums me out when I only like playing humans and elves.

 

I thought it was cool. Though saying at least one positive thing about an elf specifically wouldn't have killed her character.
