Sure, but for that to work the consequences have to remain possibilities. If DA:O was a standalone game then people could debate the right choice forever, but if DA5 rolls around and we still haven't had any problems arise from the choice then the reality is that the Dark Ritual is so far a fairly safe choice.
I will bet you any money you want, that the dark ritual will indeed turn out to be a perfectly safe choice. Just like letting the rachni queen go, or abandoning the Council, or siding with Orsino/Meredith.
That is how the Bioware philosophy works. And that's fine. While DA[4/5/6] may reveal the DR to be benign, that could be up a decade in the future. We're now 5 years after DAO's release, so we'll have had up to 15 years in which to contemplate, argue, and dissect the decision we made. And nothing that happens later can change how much impact that decision had at the time -- just like the rachni outcome being a bit lulzy did not change the fact that making that decision took me a good ten minutes.
Done well, a decision like this is memorable for its emotional and ethical significance, and can be a major defining moment for your character. It doesn't really matter what the consequences are; the decision itself is the important thing.
