Varric yes but not Iron bull.

IB is qunari, so I'd say he's a perfect fit for racial restrictions.

 

Why, because he had that ONE line in DA2 about not being into humans? I didn't get the impression he was completely serious there.

I honestly can't say. All I know is Varric, being a dwarf, has a better chance of being race-gated than, say, Solas, who is an elf.

 

But as I've said, IB is still the #1 companion when it comes to potential race-gating. Varric may or may not be, but he's my second guess.

I think he said something when Hawke was hitting on him in the Hanged Man.... when he was trying to tell Hawke to be careful about Izzy (i was romancing Izzy).

I believe him to be serious, and that's fine either way with me. I am 800000% for characters having their own preferences, I believe it brings them even more to life.

Maybe all the Varric lovers are just trying not to get their hopes up too much.  After all, we still don't even know if he's a romance option at all.

 

I think any of the characters are equally likely to be race-gated, though it does seem likely that it will be a bi option if so.

As far as Sera, I don't think they will race gate her since she is strictly for female characters, that wouldn't make sense. 

 

As was said before, if anyone is going to be race gated it will probably be the bisexual options because then there would at least be more wiggle room as far as alternative options.

If an LI is bisexual and open to all races, then there are 8 possible romantic scenes you'll need to animate. Sex and race gating lower the number of passes needed and so the amount of time someone has to work on that one scene.

No one at BioWare has said that dwarves and qunari are intrinsically harder to work with. That's something the fans have come up with on their own.

Haha, I've been thinking quite some time that ... maybe Varric did have a larger part of everything that happened in DA2 and he just told the story like the teller. Maybe he did have a thing for/with Hawke just didn't mention it in the story (hahah)

If anything this kinda eliminates Varric being a possible option because if IB is an LI he's most likely bi

THOUGH back to Sera a bit xD.. (trying to change the topic) hehe, What do you think will be the first thing she says to us ? Like the encounter. We already know that: "The inquisitor finds Sera in the streets of some town... Or rather she finds him/her" 

 

I feel like she going to be straight to the point about joining the Inquisition for her own reasons. Or maybe we help her in a mission and if she likes the way we handled things she joins.. What do you think?
