I think I'm going to remake my dwarf tonight. The purple eyes look amazing on my tv screen, but insanely bright on my pc, so the screen shots I took of Abaeni look awful, like a 5 year old picked the colours.

Kind of like how Thomas Becket got stuck being called "Thomas à Becket" because of later writers flubbing his name, or how everyone with a double-f names like "Ffeifel" owes the odd spelling to later generations not understanding how a capital f was written in the 18th century, in a gothic font.

 

On the other hand, how do we know that the epithet d'Arc didn't refer to her being a crazy homeless person living under a bridge or an arch?

See on my tv they're perfectly royal purple with burgundy/deep wine eyeliner. 

 

On my pc screen shots they're lilac with purple neon eyeliner... 

 

And then with the red hair... Oh it's just a bad clash of orange and lilac.

I believed her...or, as Liara put it, I believe that she believes it. It didn't change who she is as a character to me though.

so...about those remarks in DAI during combat...is that supposed to happen? asking again cause I never saw an answer for that.

If it is supposed to happen, then it's not working as intended since I've never heard a combat remark in my playthroughs.

I know wikipedia isn't definitive, but... http://en.wikipedia...._of_Joan_of_Arc

 

Not a mistranslation, just a modernisation of old French spelling to a newer way of writing. And with names that old, spelling is almost never standardised. She actually signed her name Jehanne, not Jeanne. That's also a modernisation so you were wrong there if you want to insist on the original spelling.

 

The original spelling of D'Arc could be Darc, Dars, Day, Darx, Dare, Tarc, Tart or Dart depending on which document you look at. it's not clear. You can't be a stickler for things that don't have a definitive answer...

That's the thing with religious visions, personally I'm skeptical about them but I'm not gonna get up in arms about it, just shrug and move on. If it gives her comfort/strengthens her faith then have it.
