It seems longer than it is I think. A bit under two months I reckon as it was around the release date of DAI if I remember correctly, give or take a week or two...That was quite a while ago though.

Without getting philosophical about how much time is a long time, I think it really only takes a week for an avatar change to be a surprise. Assuming the person doesn't change it regularly.
Probably. Also I'm an old git so two months seems like nothing to me...Without getting philosophical about how much time is a long time, I think it really only takes a week for an avatar change to be a surprise. Assuming the person doesn't change it regularly.
So we're sharing childhood shows now?
Pokemon for me.
And yeah, I know the first two seasons probably aired in Japan/US before I was old enough to watch anything, but it took years before someone made a translation for it to air here.
this! You can't go wrong with renegade.
Most of my Sheps were Paragons or Paragades. Only one Renegade, because I really wanted to know how the scars look.
well in Mass effect 2 sure...it was soo addictive...but not much in ME1 and 3...didnt have many reasons to push the goddamn button..
Although..that idiot admiral Quarian..always get the punch no matter who is my Li
Yeah. Gerrel's just being an idiot there...
In today's installment of random Dragon Age findings: in order is find the recipe for Mighty Offense Tonic you first have to find the hut in Apostate's Landing on your Storm Coast.
Afterwards try opening the door inside and then head toward you next campsite upon which you may be accosted by a random enemy called Rebel Mage.
Kill him and you should get a key which opens up the locked room in Apostate's Landing.
Thanks! So the guy's NOT around the building as I thought!
Probably. Also I'm an old git so two months seems like nothing to me...
Well, imagine being Solas' age, right...
Ooh! Got a new Sera-Vivienne parallel!
They both send us invitations through someone else. They both appear after some douche threatens us. They both take down the aforementioned douche (ok, one might not die, but...).
Now the contrast: Sera kills the guy before we can say anything, Vivienne gives us the choice. Also, the guy from Sera's side threw fireballs at us. Vivienne encased hers in ice.
Interestingly, in both cases it's a mundane VS a mage. The fireball guy missed us. The guy at Vivienne's party also missed his target with his insults.
It's an interesting reflection of their respective characters. So different, and yet so similar.
I just can't do full renegade... I just can't... Interestingly though it's early days but I'm enjoying RPing Aidan as an Andrastean. I should probably step outside my comfort zone more often.
We used to sell Pokémon toys when I worked at a computer game shop. Hearing a tinny electronic "Pikachu! I choose you!" for the three thousandth time in a week can serve to put one off a franchise...
Nice analysis, Cat! I love all the parallels between those two...
Pika...?
I had two stuffed Pikachu's when I was little. One of them talked. I can't remember what he said, though. Just the fact it was one of those pressure-based triggers.
It may have been in Japanese, now that I think about it...
They both might still be hidden somewhere, too. I don't remember.
Out of curiosity, has there been any discussion on how Sera's final (after romancing) tarot looks a lot like the Hanged Man/The Traitor tarot card? Considering how she started at the Fool, do any of you wonder if this means that she's quite aways into her "journey"? I realize that the Tarot meaning itself doesn't seem to match her, but the story of it kind of reminds me of the final scene in a lot of ways.

I'm running out of stuff to analyse...dammit!
They also share the 'my way or the highway' philosophy. Vivienne is more subtle about it, but it's definitely there. Get on her bad side and it surfaces. They're both attention hungry too (back to their respective fears).
They really are the extremes of order and chaos. Neither minds hurting the few for the good of the many. Sera doesn't realize she is doing this because her targets are nobles and the established order, but she's playing the 'greater good' card more than she thinks. They are both intolerant of towards their own 'species' too.
Sera refuses to acknowledge the real issues the Elves face and says race doesn't matter, but the reality is that it does in the world at large, regardless of her views on the matter.
Vivienne has no sympathy for rebel mages clamoring for freedom when she herself has incredible freedom to do as she pleases. She's also dismissive of stories of abuse by Templars. Cole has some shudder inducing stories.
They're both shortsighted in their own way.

I am absolutely not an expert in Tarot, but the general consensus is that her three cards are the Fool (starting card), the Star (after prank quest) and the Hanged Man (romance card).
Here's what I got according to Wikipedia.
The Fool: The spirit in search of experience.
The Star: Renewed hope and faith.
The Hanged Man: Inner harmony.
So yeah, it could be interpreted to represent Sera's growth through the story. She starts confused and curious, then she finds stability and comfort in a friend and finally she is at peace because she has something steadfast in the world: faith in her lover.

I meant in the game, Poodle.
Have a mini pie.

I find the tarot cards an interesting design choice. They're so out of Thedas it feels sort of like assigning each character a nursery rhyme or Star Wars character, but the aesthetic works.
A lot of the analysis relating to characters seems to match up, but I wonder how much thought BioWare put into it. For all we know they could be assigned as office in-jokes.
So we're sharing childhood shows now?
It had everything: space battles, mechs, bugs, strong women, tacky sexualisation, space Russian/German bad guys, and a BioWare plot.

But I don't like pie...

The bolded part makes me wonder what stuffed toys Sera would have, if any.

Wait, The Fool?
Is that what they're calling it now, or you're just another troll?
I always thought it resembled The Tower?
F it, I'm looking up tarot cards.

Anyway, I guess that fits. I've been mulling over Sera a lot these past couple of days. At first I thought she could have been a reincarnated god, but at the same time it'd be an overload on the plate that she already has. I wrote up a huge post earlier in another thread about all the weird things she has going for her, haha.
I'm actually kind of curious as to what you guys think; apparently Vivienne's aware of some of Sera's past, if the banter is anything to go by, which is kind of funny because the spymaster and the ambassador found lickety squat on her. Makes you kind of wonder how Vivienne has a hold of that sort of information to begin with, given that all the information we do have comes from the horses mouth, and goddamn it, why can't we ask her about it? whyisthatnotanoption.

Cat, I actually found Tarots at home.
I can't see people falling, or her being close to an edge. Or a dog/whatever that is on The Fool.
I do not know, That sounds more like the Bull.
Yeah, but Sera's very fascinated by Dragons.
Gotta say, I'm quite a bit like her. Some High Dragons, I just watched from a distance for several minutes before comitting to a fight.
