Someone remind me exactly the reason for the hate? Is it the Dalish belief ultimatum she gives?

 

Because I love that. And I don't mind Dalish. I just like when a character would take such a strong stand.

List of reasons why people feel such intense hatred for Sera:

 

* She's "dumb" apparently

* She's "immature" apparently

* She chews you out if you disagree with her

* Doesn't like Dalish culture

* Doesn't like magic

 

I am of the belief that people find a character like that intimidating. Her and Vivienne cop the most sh*t and what do they have in common?

 

They have strong beliefs, stick to them, and are straight up about it.

No I was laughing at the effort put into the thread, not Chuck Bass. I was simply referring to you as 'Chuck Bass'. :lol:

yeah a beer and two minutes. impressive right? it was already taken down however, despite a good debate about the dalish going on. Chuck bass is the king of gossip girl, and gossip girl is the shiiiiiittt however.

I used to think the high goal of any player should be to roleplay as anything, but now I don't care anymore. I'm not really bothered about playing as anything other than an elf, or trying the other romances. Options are cool, but I'm not sure they need to be taken to have merit.

I was expecting Cass to be similar, but as much as I like her, I don't know if her openmindedness is always a good thing. I'm worried (and she is as well) that she'll end up looking like a fool for it. She gives the Inquisitor so much power. It makes me feel like.. extra responsible with the role.

No don't think so, that would require them to enter a romance with her. Folk can hate a character for one reason or another, not everyone is gonna be universally liked, doesn't bother me really.

 

As for the Dalish thing, lol I'm a big Dalish fan and despite her eye-rolling generalization of them I'll still romance her as one, as difficult as she makes it at times it's my canon, just not a devout one. As I couldn't disagree with her more in that scene.

Imo Sera's flaws are what makes her so damn delicious. :lol:

 

But some people come up with the most ridiculous ideas about *why* they hate Sera.

 

I recall one of them being "she doesn't approve if you rescue everybody at Haven, therefore she's a horrible person".

 

Oh, and somebody compared Sera fans to Nazis and terrorists.... I mean, what the f*ck.

I like Sera because more than once she explains shes trying to believe in her faith. Its why a person like her (fun loving robin hood style thief) sticks around with the inquisition. She'd never admit it but she feels inspired to be someone better by the Inquisitor. People being inspired to be better than they are is a bit of a theme in Dragon Age. Going all the way back to Leliana and heck, Oghren (he joins the wardens when he could easily have just become a mercenary).
