I was never on it. I'm not sure I'll ever make a Qunari. I just don't feel it... (Sorry, Alexia.)
I have a confession to make. I don't hate fetch quests, and I adore wandering around the big maps in DAI. *runs away*
If all the people who didn't like Sera articulated themselves like this then there'd be zero problems, at least for me.
Oh god! Now you made me think of Wash! I thought I'd managed to get over the trauma...

*thinks of warring toy dinosaurs to ease the pain*

I like the fetch quests too!!! I wouldn't want just fetch quests of course, but I like them and am glad they are there for extras

A dissenting opinion was allowed and wasn't offensive? My work here is done, thank you.

Waaaassh.  I saw that movie at least 3 times in theatres and it was like pouring salt on a raw wound...Whedon had to go and kill on of the two characters you cannot kill....

"and we will call it....this land"

Have you ever accidentally swallowed chewing gum, and because you were taught never to swallow gum, you try to cough it back up to no avail? Because I just did that.

No big deal. It will follow the 'natural path'. ;)

Not to worry. In a decade, I'll finally see it again.  :D

I like that the world is big enough that I have some choices. Like if I strongly dislike Exalted Plains, I can skip it altogether and still play. MMOs tend to be that way, so I enjoyed that (except for the communities, often). Though I remember I got stuck on my second playthrough of SWTOR because I got to this one planet and was like "I would rather play anything else than go through this place again."

Which reminds me I never finished DAO because I got stuck in the Deep Roads both times.

Didn't know that.

I wanted to ask though, is Thor, Odin, Freyja etc. still widely believed in?

Edit: Didn't know Finland was part of Scandinavia, not Machine Gun Preacher was a Finn.

I heard that's mostly a subculture of Wiccan like people (not the most apt comparison).

Or Black Metal fans who hate church. :P

I don't know about in those countries, but I do know there are communities in the US, and I knew one man somewhat well personally, who believed in the Norse Pantheon and religion, (they were of Scandinavian descent) and it absolutely was not a wiccan subculture, it was its own religion and cultural way of life for them.

The man brewed his own beer and made himself a battle axe that he actually took to war...

The Deep Roads is a cool place though! So spooky and daunting. It's positively thrilling!

It's because DA:I is structured similarly to MMO's overall. I think that has to do with the fact that it started out as a multiplayer project. If you think about it, all of the game world with its regions and areas would be a viable setting for an MMO as it stands. Difference would instead of running around the Hinterlands all by yourself, you would have other players by your side.

Now, whether this is a good or bad thing is debatable and has been discussed on this site more than a few times. I personally think it works. I just wish there was more incentive to visit non-plot-critical locations besides grinding XP/influence.

They are a bit stocky, but I guess I'm just saying it isn't overly so.

Yeah I'm tall and slim as well.. there isn't anything close to it, except female Qunari. lol. Or a taller Cass.

You have got to keep the time period in mind. The vast majority of work involved hard labor or was completely made up of it. You are not going to stay skinny working on a farm, hunting for meat/pelts to sell or working a forge all day. Of course tv's, computers and such devices exist so kids where a lot more active than they are today. Also, members of nobility who where smart, would train to fight and keep in shape. Because land disputes and in fighting where pretty common and being prepared to protect you and yours had to be a priority. Sure there should be more skinny people, but not as many as you would think. Also there is a pretty big difference in the human body types in Dragon Age and natural body builder. Even if you compare them to the natural body builders from the 50's and 60's.

I think the best non-plot-critical encounter is the Still Ruins. It's kind of freaky seeing all those demons and Tevinter soldiers frozen in time. But then I found the Western Approach in general to be one of the better zones.

You had to go to the Approach for the story, though.

I was referring more to areas that are completely skippable, such as the Exalted Plains and the Emprise du Lion. You really had no reason to go there besides farming XP through the same bunch of side quests you've been grinding already.

It's not a major annoyance, just something that could have been more.

Tell me this story. Did he charge into battle with shield and axe and slaughter many innocents in some blood fuelled rage?

We totally post pornography in secret. They get taken down super duper quick though so you only get a few seconds of material for... private use.

no, lol.  I don't think he ever used it in combat, although I'm sure he would have given the chance, but not much hand to hand going on.  It served as a tool rather than a weapon.  He was also not the only person in the unit with an axe...
