I'm lead to believe, though, that the muscles you use most are actually those in your back. Is this right?

The "wings" for the pull, yeah. Most of the pressure at full draw is on the arms and shoulders, though, which is what causes the skeletal changes. It's an intense upper-body workout, that's for sure :P

I'm playing an elf so it makes it harder, apparently.

It really does. I was kind of stunned how fast she liked my dwarf in comparison.

It's good to have her around whenever you help refugees. She likes that.

And she does have a fondness for beheadings of wrongdoers.

Thinking about it, the right elbow (assuming holding the bow in your left hand) must be under some pretty intense strain, too, being at the join between the part of your arm that's in compression and the part that's in tension.

It's morning, I'm sleepy after a night of bad dreams, I made a pot of coffee, and a friend sent me a picture of baby otters.

She knows me well.

So I was thinking: Fiona is Alistair's mother. That has to put her at least in her fifties, no? Can some one tell me what brand of anti-wrinkle cream she uses?

Magic.

The best anti-wrinkle brand there is.

I almost never remember my dreams, but I do recall thinking this morning that the dream I'd been having was weird...

Archery is one of those things I would like to try. I don't really think I could do it, though.

Thing is, I held a bow in my hands before, and I fired off about... wait, two shots?

Idiotic fact about me, I had the arrow on the RIGHT side of the bow, while drawing with my RIGHT hand.

You can probably imagine how many times my effective range exceeded melee.

Trust me, I'd rather be savvy with a firearm than internet.

Internet's not gonna save you from a thing. Being similarly capable with a weapon, however...

... Is likely to see you over-inflate your opinion of your competence, see you engage in a dangerous situation instead of getting the hell away and get you killed? ;)

Were the otters for the bad dreams or the coffee?

Exercising your internet savvyness is less likely to get you killed though. Also more versatile.

Only if you can't stay away from comitting way over your head.

It was totally random, but I think she got the idea I was having a bad weekend (which was true) and just decided to send me preemptive otters this morning.

I can't vouch for it working but some people have mentioned needing to completely exhaust her dialogue tree at Skyhold before the romance progresses. Except the kick option, obviously.

That's not really surprising, all things considered.

I got it after exausting the dialouge tree..

In all seriousness, being good on the internet can help someone reach all sorts of useful information, watch shows they love, listen to and find music, keep track of their health and fitness, buy things they need etc.

Being good with a firearm helps you kill things and/or shoot at targets. I know which I'd rather be doing.

Archery clubs usually have demonstrations where you can try it out. It ain't physically that hard, unless you pick an 80lbs english longbow as your first bow :P

Not gonna touch that with a 10-foot pole in the name of peace and harmony :P

Target shooting is fun! I managed to shoot the cap off a bottle of orange juice once. I can't hit a moving target to save my life though (skeet shooting is hard!)

No one ever sends me random pictures of otters. I never realised this was something my life was missing.
