How do YOU dance? How does Sera dance?
Spoiler
That was enlightening, but 8 minutes of "What is Love?" is far too much. Never do that to me again.

Judging from the concept art, she seems like a hilarious individual. A real joker. I approve of this.
What if she's actually like batsh*t crazy? Wouldn't that be fun?

I won't hurt you no mo.

Why so serious?
Why so serious?
Yeah, like that hermit guy, only a female version and a companion. That would be original.

For the first thirty seconds, it's like, "Yeah! This'll never get old!"
But you know what? It always does.

I loved the hermit guy. For the first time in my latest playthrough I tried to kill him during the question game. He just freaking magics away from my blade! I tried to do it like twelve times and it never worked! Why can't the player mages teleport away from attacks with impunity?
Pfft the rhyming oak is so much more legit then the cray-cray teleporting old man.

It wasn't teleport, it's an illusion magic. Morrigan says that btw if you have her with you. Also in inquisition mages perhaps might learn to teleport due to the fade tears.

because there's no teleportation in DA #WordofGod

Bring both to the party, the banter will be awesome.
Specially when the hermit will try to hide something in oaks butt.

I loved the Elder Tree! Though when he made the poet tree joke thirty seconds after Oghren and got a laugh when no one reacted to the dwarf I was half expecting Oghren to put his axe to good use.

Actually it could be. I wouldn't mind a prankster in the party. Varric, while he's humorous, is more of a bardic storyteller. We haven't had someone either a total goofball or just plan crazy in among the DA companions yet.
<scrolls through the thread>
TKS: You're taking this way off topic. This isn't about Varric.. I'm sorry you don't find any of the companions interesting so far. That does suck. This is about "Sera." If you don't anything constructive to say on the topic, then please leave. There is a thread that covers the companions in general if you wish to discuss Varric's possible role in DA:I, Guys, please quit encouraging him and just get back on topic.
I'll start: It's funny to see how many people think that the Blonde Elf Girl has a "Sue-vibe" just because she has everyone laughing in the only current picture of her. I guess I don't get it. I do agree with some of the others though; I really hope we don't have to dig too hard to get to her inner layers. Otherwise, and I hate to say it, there might not be much to her that Varrc doesn't have already (personality-wise.)
I was talking on topic until others started changed topic when i briefly mentioned varric so not my fault and don't get why you blame me

Now I have this mental picture of Sera learning about the Elder Tree and tormenting Cassandra by talking like that non stop.
Sera: "What is this, that is before me? A Seeker with rage for all to see?"
Cass: "Stop that."
Sera: "Put a smile on thy face, it isn't a strain. If you only frown, then wrinkles will remain.
Cass: "I'm going to hurt you, Elf."
Sara: "Ah, must you wound me so? Fine, one more Rhyme for thee before I go?"
Cass: "If it'll shut you up."
Sara: "Spend less time looking at the ground, at the streets that are paved. If you look up and look around, you might finally get laid!"
Cass: "I. Am. Going. To. Hurt. You."
Varric: "Now now ladies, there's no need to get hostile. Sera, why don't you give the Seeker a few minutes to calm down?"
Cass: "I don't know how much more I can take of this."
Varric: "Don't fret Seeker. She'll find someone wearing a lot of shiny jewels too drunk to say their name straight. She'll be distracted in no time."
Sera: "He's right, just so you know. Now I hope we can go somewhere to go see the snow!"
Cass: <sigh>
She seems kind of like Isabela to me, except less sensual and more obnoxious, but it's just one picture and a possibly outdated blurb.

You know... I think I might be okay with romancing her in this case. My Inquisitor is probably somewhat on the stern/driven side, so having someone who could make her laugh would be very nice.
Out of all the new characters, she's the one I'm the most hesitant about. I can easily see how she could become one of my most favorite characters, and just as easily become one of my least favorite. The kind of humor they're going with with her requires a certain finesse to avoid becoming obnoxious.
Perfectly true. Still, anyone who can make Cassandra look like that deserves some up-front sympathy. Also, I like the type. So I hope the writing style will ride the fence as it needs to.

My thoughts exactly. I've got a bad feeling about her though; I will be correct.

I'm expecting see a more serious Varric, who's somewhat less the joker.
From the original description of Sera i can see similarities in some of the things i love about Isabela. So free spirit rather than outright prankster would be my hope.

Well, here' s the thing; skilled artist, it's easy to draw a picture of anyone getting any kind of reaction out of anyone.
As a writer... comedy is hard. And whoever drew that picture has set a high bar for whoever is writing this girl.
I like her look in that artwork. Seems really spunky and easy-going, and if she's the prankster of the party I'll probably have her along almost all the time similar to Varric in DA2.
Of course, Varric IS back and that could be interesting. They'd probably try to 'one-up' each other....
