Yeah..... gives the haters even more fuel to call Sera "evil" (whereas she offered to help poor Cass). If only this scene played out differently.

*hugs your elf*

Man, I am looking forward to playing my dwarf. Although I'm sure the Blackwall romance is just as tragic.

Poor Aithne looks so strange without her Vallaslin. I want her to storm over to Solas and be like "Take your stupid spell back, I want my marks!"

It's definitely got some depth. But never putting myself through that again. I like wandering over to my LI and poking them for a kiss!  I still say Bull has the best romance arc in the game, so far.

I'm trying to get IB and Dorian together in my current run, have yet to get that, heard many things both positive and negative about their banter on these boards. I've no opinion on it as I need to experience it for myself.

Varric and Bull were the only characters who ever offered me a drink and Varric's offer gets the whole the gang together. I could wish BioWare had written a few more scenes like that just to give a better sense of some comradery and friendship.

I want an actual brandy scene with Dorian, not just talking about having a drink. :(

Me too, I think that's going to be a goal for my next playthrough as well.

Somebody posted a youtube clip of their banter a few weeks back and it was awkward to say the least or so I felt. Awkward for Dorian.

I had it happen as I took team YOLO out for quite a while towards the end of Tressa's run. I never noticed anything that made me uncomfortable but I could've missed the banter in question...

I saw this on youtube, damn I'd never take him up on it myself, whatever the truth behind em it's a big part of your elf's identity, couldn't do it.

I think it was Sera who made the remark that for Dorian it must be like falling off a tree into custard. Too high! Too fast! *Splat!*

I'll have to show y'all the before and after pics when I get a chance to sort through them tonight.

Aithne's just getting to a very vulnerable place where she feels like her identity and beliefs are false. Her clan is dead and the only elves around her believe that the Dalish are foolish.

Solas does have his reasons though. It does remain to be seen, but I'm rather confident he is more tragic hero than cold hearted villain.  But thats another thread, and there is PLENTY in that thread about it.

Then funny thing is, even with what we do KNOW now about him, Solas and Sera have some big things in common.

Clearly he sees himself that way, at least. The conversation towards the end of the game where he asks the Inquisitor what they will do if they try to change the world for the better and it goes wrong is very telling I think...

I managed to spoil myself about Solas's true identity quite early in Tressa's playthrough, so there were several things he said that made a whole lot more sense than they otherwise might have... I'm getting that same feeling now on my second playthrough with Blackwall. All the little clues that you don't notice when you don't know the truth...

I feel your pain, welp I can empathize at least, first time round my Lavellan chose poorily and she lost her clan too. No one said a thing about it, NO-ONE, dafuq srsly.

I love all the hidden clues.

Solas accidently says so many things that age him, but I always associated it with his fade walks!

And man, if you know where Blackwall was actually supposed to be during the 5th blight... Big mistake in that conversation Blackwall!

You'd think Josephine would mention it, considering she was the advisor I chose!

Gah, war table implementation... just bad in some respects.

Yeah even in my first playthrough I though "what?" when he said he was in Ferelden, but I just put it down to him being out of touch with the rest of the order. It should've raised more red flags...

Blackwall rang a lot of alarm bells with me right from the get go. He was too eager to join and too evasive when questioned about the Wardens. I suspected he was up to something. He has a really interesting tale though if people don't write him off early as "dry." I sort of did and later regretted it as his story fired up late in game.

Oh he does bug me, but I love his scenes in Val Royeaux too much not to keep him.

I did too. I was like "Why didn't my warden know that Blackwall was kicking around somewhere? I should have run into him with all the darkspawn I destroyed!"

The big slip-up that Solas makes is when he admits how much he misses power-plays and politics. I mean, how does a wandering apostate know anything about that sort of thing?

I got it right though on my 3rd run, with my elf who romanced Josie. The outcome is epic if you do it correctly.

I found Blackwall more interesting as the story went on. And the little clues throughout his dialog the second time are great.

That one I could associate with watching balls in the fade. Sort of like how I watch crazy drama shows on tv.

His big tell for me was in the Emerald Graves and how he remarks on how the trees have grown since he'd been there last.

He bugged me a lot and his confession about his childhood was the most difficult scene in the game for me. I would have pressed my hands against my ears in real life and screamed "I'M NOT LISTENING!!!" Or wanted to at any rate. But I wanted to believe in the end that he would overcome his deep personal failings.
