*eyes you.....* No. I did not 'watch Twilight' and don't you ever dare accuse me of such a thing again.
It was on. I did not watch it. It was on. Actually my significant other was watching it. They have read the books, ripped apart the books psycology in an academic presentation, and so occasionally they will put it on TV as background.
Again. It was on. I did not watch it. It was just on. that is all.
Me thinks Dgyre protests too much. ![]()

Classic signs of denial. Don't worry, sir. Your secret's safe with me.
comedic denial aside, I really do dislike that story and the primary characters have a terrible relationship.
But some of the supporting cast are fun, if rather typical

Who's the hot one who can see the future. She is the main reason why I watched it. That and Werewolves. ![]()

I've heard a lot critics say that. Twilight could have been good if the vampire war had been the focus and the romance a subplot rather than the other way around.
Mark reads Twilight is always good for a laugh too.

I miss the old rotten, creepy, gory Vampires of childhood. These pimple-free teen ones can just take a walk off a cliff. I'll take Christopher Lee or Robert Quarry over this batch! Or Ingrid Pitt...![]()

She's good, I like her guy, the 'tactical strategist', and then the mountain man played by Kellan Lutz, big brawny goofball type, I even like the bitchy blonde if only because she actually has a negative reaction on some level to what they are and what bella chooses to do.
The Dad is funny....in fact if I were to ever change my avatar I'd probably go with the Dad....
wolf boy has his moments. I admit, the scene I actually really enjoyed in the entire series is when he breaks the alpha's hold on him. You go boy...err wolf. You go wolfie...

Alexia, is Artemis feeling any better?
Assassin, unfortunately it's a no go on the fingers, typing this is about the extent of their usage.
Speaking of dogs I'm kind of surprised that I give Blackwall a get out of jail card after the dog story.
Eirene, I enjoy reading your long posts, I learn a lot. My brain had an on/off switch in school, numbers were on, everything else off.
I will be happy to get home tomorrow evening (well evening for me anyway)
Edit: Wait a minute I'm staying at a Holiday Inn Express I should be able to keep up with you guys and gals now.

I remember really enjoying Lost Boys when I saw it in the theaters in the 80's. I rented it to watch with my niece a few years ago and it didn't hold up well at all.
I did enjoy Blade and Underworld even though they were very much goofy action films but they were a lot of fun. I can't totally diss the teen thing as I loved Buffy The Vampire Slayer (the show more so than the movie).
I also liked The Strain which FX ran last summer. It was cheesy but the bad vampire motif was back but with an interesting twist. I confess I never read the books though and probably won't.

There are so many books coming out this year I'm looking forward to. I've really been falling behind in what I wanted to read last year. Life complications going on, gaming, and just not reading as much I'd like.

Twilight, hmm yes I've seen some of them, good soundtracks, terrible movies.

IMO the best vampire movies are and will always be the Hammer Horror movies with Christopher Lee. They where stupid and over the top but managed to be way ahead of their time as well. A lot of the vampire tropes that became main stays came out of those movies and Chris is such a badass Dracula in them. You start to root for him in those movies. Also, it's funny how much times have changed. Because if those movies came out today the Politically Correct Police would **** bricks.

Pfft, we don't need to be bigger than that thread when we are clearly also better (I can say this without maliciousness since I don't read it lmao), no need to be greedy.

I agree. I used to get so excited if Creature Double Feature were showing a Hammer film on a Saturday afternoon and those Christopher Lee/Peter Cushing ones were the best. Of course it also meant sleeping with the blanket up around my neck for a week! ![]()
