I go to the Emprise before I ever do Adamant or the Palace, usually mid teens.  I didn't clear the map at that level though, or the dragon.  I was also on normal.  We'll see how things go on my current Hard playthrough.

 

for plot purposes I like to discover the areas in succession of the inquisition growing outward..

 

so like, Hinterlands, Fallow Mire , Storm Coast, then the Exalted Plains, Emprise, Graves, and then the rest of the western areas.

argh finally caved in and brough shadow of revan expansion for Swtor . Only..made a mistake and created a new account without even paying attention...so end up with 2 account . I though I had lost everything (poor shinie..he received all my OMGIMDOOmEDhELP emails  ) ...

 

Anyway..just resolved the problem a few minutes ago...waiting on a confirmation email..so I can start Enjoying my ****** purchase . And yes its a big deal cose I played that stupid game since 2013 and achieved sooo much..........I would hate to lose all my hard work..like that .

The other day I found screenshots from my swtor playing. I don't know why I keep old screenshots around, but apparently I do.

Well the Oasis doesnt matter to me cose its a lame place . I only do it just cose I hate not doing something I know should be done . 

 

Anyway , well I was looking for a good order of maps ...but....ya know...short attention span and lazyness...and life goes on lol 

 

I dont mind using a good order though . Let see....used one in Kotor 1 and 2 ...even Mass effect 3 ! Oh heck I even have this guide to who to bring with ya on each mission..for the picky..wich I'm .

That's standard practice, though, isn't it? Optional villains are often harder than the end-game ones, because they want more casual players to finish the story...

 

I have no issue with cutting standard practices.

 

But in this case my point is that I feel there's no reason to engage with the content unless you really like dragon fights and are happy doing that for the sake of it.

 

 

Well its the 1st where dragon are just dragon and ya can ride one .

 

Except you only ride one to transition to a special area, outside of DLC. There have been action games with dragon riding before that, like Drakan and Panzer Dragoon. Also Spyro the Dragon really deserves some kind of mention.

 

The dragons in Skyrim were just bad on all fronts though, it's like remembering Dragon Age for its quality of sword fighting mechanics.

With Tressa I didn't do the Forbidden Oasis until really near the end, either. I sort of forgot that it was there... Weird to go around swatting level 10/11 mooks like flies...

Tressa did her bit to contribute to that stat, and Aidan will add to it once he's levelled up a bit more.

 

I'm also proud to have contributed.

Killed all ten with Arianne, and I think... two with Lyna.

 

I was level 24 I think, and I may have accidentally killed in two attacks it with Sera, flask of fire and thousand cuts. Not sure how that happened...

Talking of tough fights, last night I thought that the Envy demon was going to cause my first wipe on Aidan's playthrough. I used up loads of potions early on, It still had a few thousand health and I was down to my last health potion and no regens left for Aidan. Then it was dead. Really suddenly. I'm not quite sure what happened...

 

Pretty sure Sera said "Oh, well, I'm not supposed to have it yet, but why not? Thousand Cuts!"

All I heard was 'omg *lot of noise* ride dragon , get dragon DLC yada yada' . I never went far in the game to know..so I assumed it was true...

I base mine on what missions would be important to my current inquisitor (yay meta-gaming) because as much as I love this game I'm never doing the full map again. No more fallow mire! 

 

So I go to the hinterlands and defeat the templars and mages (and get a few camps set up), which gives me my 4-6 power. Scoot over to Haven/Val Royeaux (Meet Sera and Vivienne), go to Redcliffe to meet Dorian/Storm Coast to Recruit Bull, choose either Hushed Whispers or Champions of the Just, and then do In Your Hearts Shall Burn. 

 

Once I've got Skyhold I do whatever missions I feel like and build up 50 power so I can do Adamant and Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts in one full run. 

 

Then I get all the keeps and then I go to the Arbor Wilds. By then I'm usually pretty ready to face Corypheus and usually have more than enough power to do so. 

 

Oh, and of course companion missions and dialogue are sprinkled all through there.

Well there's also being a completionist, or wanting the best crafting materials and the best unique weapons... Why oh why is dragon webbing orange, though?

Completely OT, but when did that ever stop us posting stuff in this thread? My wife shared this on Facebook and it made me think of Basement Cat and Artemis Leonhart specifically, but all of the multi-lingual members of this thread in general. This guy is impressive, certainly in French and Spanish, and I've no reason to doubt his competence in the other languages. How's his Irish.  CrimsonN7 or his German, Eirene?

 

 

His English vocabulary is limited, though...

 

Edit: Yeah, it would've been yet more impressive if there were some Asian or African languages in there as well as all the closely related Romance ones, but still...

 

That's pretty cool, his Irish is good, we have to learn it throughout our school years both primary and secondary, it's compulsory. But the way it's taught here ain't great, you'll only learn to speak it fluently if you live in a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking region of Ireland) or go to an all Irish school. I can't speak it fluently, I can talk for only so long in it, my Irish is limited lol. I had to learn French to get into college but man languages aren't my forte, can't string a sentence together since.

im the dlc you can tame and ride a dragon and in the main story you can once

I happy for you to use the order, and I like it myself, I just didn't want you to use the order and find some events happening in odd orders and be like " Stupid Grandpa Dragon, this is not a good map order!"  especially since the Emprise is a tough area.  

 

If you do want to use the order though, I do the Empress's Ball after the three Orlais areas, and then Crestwood, and then Adamant and move on to the rest of the west from there.

 

I always leave a quests in every area as well, so I can revisit them for filler and power as I go through (although I always seem to have enough power anyways) and the dragons all get saved for late game.  

 

In this playthrough where I am really going for completion, my goal is to have all the maps cleared before marching on the Arbor Wilds
