As you say. I was treated to a pic untagged on tumblr of 2000 Nigerian people who were murdered by Boko Haram. I assure you it isn't something you want to stay in your spirit. Ain't **** about murder to glorify bruh.

Fictional, I can deal with because i understand the line.

Double Likes for this, for the initial statement and the recognition of a Fictional Line -  An extremely important nuance I'm worried the young today are not all comprehending...

But that's genocide. I merely want to see someone deserving off it, go through it.

aha but who deciedes who is "deserving" or not

Savoring the moment has been the downfall of many a cinematic villain.  Revenge won't keep you safe or feed and clothe you, if you have to remove a threat with violence, do it quick, be done with it and focus on more positive pursuits,

But... savouring the moment... you learn everything about a man in their final moments... you got to prolong the suffering.

Hard to watch if you don't know why it was being done. To me, it felt like justice. In fact, it was justice, The Viking Way!

Seems to be a little bit more Corypheus content if one takes the Templar route in the game. Just finished the Temple of Dumat and I am going to have to read up a little more on this Calpernia as she seems a really interesting character. A tad more interesting than Samson.

Vikings is a terrific show. It's historical veracity is a bit dubious but the show is really done well and works as entertainment. Looking forward to the new season!

A tad more interesting is an understatement, she IS more interesting than Samson, wasn't much of a stretch.

Vikings is based on the Sagas of Ragnar Lothbrok rather than actual historical accuracy. Though, because it's the History Channel, it's as accurate as it's gonna get.

Yeah, you definitely get more on Corypheus with that Calpernia quest, although the whole crystal recording device thing was a tad out of place to me...but I let it go..

Samson has more ties to the previous games so you get to see the fulfillment of that original arc, but there isn't as much to him, at least so far in my 3 play throughs, as there is to Calpernia.

That is one thing I Like about the choice between Mages and Templars..its not like just replacing one sub villain for another, it does actually change your game experience a bit, you get things with each that you dont' get with the other.

Poodle, if something deserves to die, you drop all emotions, do it quick and clean, then walk away.

Why? Emotions will make you screw something up. Keep your head clean.

And if you do it quick and clean, you can spit afterwards and say "I am a better person than that sh*tbag ever was."

It is an understatement. I think she is a lot more interesting. I am trying to reason her motives for saving an empire that has enslaved her. I don't feel I quite understand those motivations so I am going to look for what others have said online.

Vikings is based on the Sagas of Ragnar Lothbrok rather than actual historical accuracy. Though, because it's the History Channel, it's as accurate as it's gonna get.

Yes it is based on the sagas. There is some debate over whether a Ragnar actually existed. There appear to have been at least three Ragnar's during that time period of some importance. Some of the deeds ascribed to Ragnar in the series may have been carried out by his son from what a Medievalist I work with told me recently. It's the only thing I watch on the so-called "History channel" as I have little interest in UFOs or monster trucks. :P

I have felt this is a bit of different game this time. Lots of things are different from the interaction with the big bad even down to things like how much Solas appears to detest my current Inquisitor. I am liking the replay options of the game a lot. Back to it I go! :D

What happens when you kill someone and you find out that you were wrong and they didn't actually deserve it at all?

I've been unable to watch the more violent tv shows and movies lately. I dropped cable and haven't really felt like I've missed some of what people are talking about. But the kind of grimdark immersion in a lot of this just... maybe it was something that changed in me at some point and I just couldn't anymore.

And it seems strange to say that since I am apparently killing people in a videogame. I'm not sure why the emotional distance. Maybe because I feel more agency in the game than I do when passively soaking in someone else's violent vision. Maybe because I can disconnect more when I'm doing cartoon violence with magic and arrows.

And though I read a grim book now and then, a lot of my reading has gotten... lighter. There needs to be a sense of community and personal loyalty, people looking out for each other. The worldview maybe not too bleak. Maybe I'm missing out on a lot of fine literature and fine television, but it's a personal distance I've been needing to maintain the last few years. Life being what it is.
