What was the Solas conversation that bugged me recently? It was after conscripting the Wardens. I chose an option and what my Inquisitor said didn't seem to bear any relation to the paraphrase. It was the worst example of that that I've seen in DAI. I just can't remember what was said...

I meant the Templars not the Wardens, although there was one after the Wardens where Tressa said something super-aggressive that I totally wan't expecting. I got approval so I let it slide because metagaming. ;)

Take-away takes up a portion of my diet as well. I'm honestly surprised I am not overweight. All my friends call me Diabetus because of the amount of crap food I eat.

I don't think the problem is that Sera doesn't know big words or elven words or wev, it's that her reaction to them is mock the other person instead of owning her own insecurity. which is sympathetic, but jerky.

It doesn't bother me with Dorian though. He's obviously being even more pretentious than usual just to troll her, and poor thing falls for it.

Can I just point out that "I'm so glad you returned" is not the same as saying "Solas, are you okay?" Like I should know if I'm about to ask someone if they're okay!

I love the wheel but the paraphrases borderline don't work. There are times when the actual line is something like three words and they'll put a longer less accurate paraphrase there.

I'd prefer it if they just stated the objective of the line and had a tone indicator.

Dorian could just use simple words for her instead of going to learn big words just to show she's "intelligent".

I don't find it easy to adjust my speech when needed.

No I mean English, or whatever they call it in-game. She could make some effort to learn a few longer words. I don't recall Dorian using any words that I don't know myself.

Sorry but while I like Dorian, I'd be lying if I didn't say hes a self-absorbed jerk. Sera shouldn't have to learn a few longer words just because Dorian expects her to know them. It would do Dorian a lot of good to stop expecting people to step up to his level or at least help Sera expand her vocab.

Could also make a better burger at home. Perhaps even healthier with some organic beef and better (read "real") cheese.

Ugh, me too! I don't understand why the tone wheel is only used for about half of your options. Or sometimes the white decision wheel will pop up and sometimes it has explanations and sometimes it won't.

The wheel just needs to be more consistent, and the writers I think need to take a summarizing course!

I disagree, cooking is quite hard.

But I'd rather go out and buy a proper lunch than dump my money at McDonalds, where I will leave not feeling much fuller than when I came, and get charged more for junk food.

I mean, I can get a real lunch at a restaurant, and there'll be more of it, it'll be tastier, and it'll be healthier.

Definitely. The sh*t they put into burgers, according to rumors...

Basically I think what we're getting to here is that it's the clash of the self-absorbed jerks that we for some reason still like... ;)

I had to google some words from Dorian tbh. :P

While yes, she could learn some, i don't see why she should though if she doesn't want to? Sera is not a big fan of big words. Then again they seem to understand her perfectly from what i recal in their banters so all is ok. Dorian could just use simple words for her instead of going to learn big words just to show he's "intelligent".

I personally can see where she's coming from, I don't use big words irl (and there are many greek words that hurt my head tbh).

That right there is the cornerstone of the problem. You assume he is doing it to show off. It's very likely that he was surrounded by that kind of language from birth and it doesn't even occur to him that other people would not know what that means.

Sera jumps to the same conclusion you did: he is being a snob.

But he's not. He's just talking naturally. I can really relate to Dorian on this.

It's the case of Dr. House. On the show we adore him, but if he was out doctor and something was terribly wrong with us, he'd have us in tears and hating him in 10 seconds flat.

Emmental is delish and don't even get me started on sweet potato fries. I like to make a New York burger at home when I do it. So it's crumbled blue cheese with smoky bacon, organic/free range beef, and maybe a sirracha mayo to go along with it. Ooh just 20 or so minutes to lunch...thank the maker! :D

Cooking is great. I love it and I'm quite good at it, but tonight we're ordering pizza and I'm not ashamed. :P

I get immense satisfaction from using big words in sentences. Not because I'm trying to show off or be better than someone, but just because the sound of big words makes me happy.

Other than the sriacha (can't handle hot or spicy) that sounds so delicious!

Luch is still an hour and 15 away for me.

That's good. My point is that when someone says 'stop using big words I don't understand' it's really easy to hear it as 'you must accommodate me because I can't be bothered to learn new stuff'.

It hurts.

I love the fact that Hugh Lawrie can play House so well when previously everyone in Britain knew him for playing upper-class twits...
