After all, the realm of semantics and vocables is one of wondrous marvels. It is much like a box of confections to those of an intellectual bent. I use words to pull and twist and paint a picture; the journey my mind travels. If you will not share my delight, how can I show you where I went?

Momma always told me, life is like a box of chocolates.

The funny thing about English if you are a native romance langue speaker like Cat, is that the "long difficult intellectual" versions of words often sound like the normal words in your own language...

Example: Speed is more or less a synonym of velocity (although not in a strict mathematical sense) and the French for speed is velocité...

Actually it's 'vitesse'. 'Véolcité' is seen as archaic or technical. It's used in the aeronautics field still.

Argh. Spanish corruption of my French vocabulary. Velocidad in Spanish is definitely correct... OK how about green? One can say that something green is verdant. Vert(e) in French, Verde in Spanish, etc...

Edit: Also: Fast, rapid, rapide, rápido. There are so many and my mind is blanking on them...

Not a big Solas fan which worries me about DLC's since BioWare has made Solas the most important character in the game. This game isn't set up for the multiple games that I had on the other Dragon Age games. Way too much grinding to play the storyline, and most of the companion quests don't interest me to play more than once. I've only finished one game out of the four that I've started, two games I can finish pretty much at any time and one I just gave up on. I have one more planned play through so I probably will end up with four to five finished games which is about 1/2 of my DA2 games and 1/4 of my DAO games. I've enjoyed the game but unfortunately the grinding makes it less fun for replays, at least for me, this makes DLC's that much more important for me. With my favorite character being the least liked and least important character in the game my hopes aren't high for DLC's at this point.

Dread Wolf DLC feels like a given now, I get on with Solas for the most part even though he has his head rammed up pretty hard up his ass at times. Spirits aren't people my god.

When you add the fact that my favorite race to play in this game is elf and I have no interest in Josie it makes the game very limited for me. In order to play elf and romance Sera you have to limit how you play and ignore some of the comments made by Sera. It's really a shame for me that I have difficulty playing qunari and dwarfs as Sera seems to be made for them. My Human play through was very bland to me and no matter what analyses is given for her immediate acceptance of a noble human, I don't buy it sorry.

But then again I may just be in a bad mood.

As long as Sera gets enough cutscenes, and awesome ones i must say, i'd be fine with a Solas dlc..... :P

Give us more Sera romance, pl0z.

I would think so and harvesting forest greens. I like to think they have a lot of dandelion salad and berries. :P

Fun fact: Both dandelion leaves and roots are edible. As are red clover leaves and blooms (a good source of protein this plant). So much stuff in nature is edible. This from someone who has planned a "See how long you can go with just what you forage" camping challenge for next spring :P Winter is the Cercei Lannister of seasons, though.

I read about a lot of that in The Testing series. Not looking forward to try surviving on my own though :P I like Sobeys to forage my mushrooms for me. Oh man, oyster mushrooms are the best!

But, yeah, seriously how do the dalish survive in winter beyond salted meats? Veggies don't keep very long...

Yep. 'Vert(e)' is green, while 'verdure' is greenery. :)

If I had to survive in the wilderness I think I'd last about three hours.

Pretty much. (although I've gone camping and it was fine, I'd much rather just go on day trips) But it's like "Okay, we've been out here long enoug. Where's the nearest Wendy's?"

Trade with the Shemlan. Or get baked on elfroot.

But what about the ones that refuse to go near humans? Do they starve for four months?

Fancy, although maybe a bit too spicy for me.

But it does sound delicious!

You can cut the blackend and cajun seasoning in half or use the mild ones if you can find them.

I have a pretty extensive vocab. But, I hardly ever use "big words." I prefer to speak plainly and to the point. It's at lot easier to do so and you can avoid making people feel inferior.

See edit for a better one. Fast is synonymous with rapid. Rapide in French. Rápido in Spanish.

I might replace with garlic and onion powder seasonings. Maybe a bit of paprika. ;)

I just love the sound of bigger words ... like... exasperating is one of my favourite verbs.

Dried veggies, tubers, roots, fish, continuous hunting etc. Spring/summer/fall is all about stockpiling for winter. And I would imagine they winter in areas they know well in regards to game trails/enemy activity. It's interesting when you actually have to think where your next meal is coming from when you can't eat money :P

Not too worried about the quality of DLC with how much work they put into DA2s, but I'll agree that I'm not as interested in a DLC revolving around Solas. I mean I like him a lot, and it'd have probably good elven lore, but I'm still annoyed at how they revealed that and how meaningless it was for the game, and how much it begs for a DLC just to be effective at all.

I'd prefer DLC that doesn't revolve around one character, and I hope if we do have a Solas centric one, it will be more like da2 DLC, where all the characters are involved and can have fun content.

Every quizzy. The Qunari story also  involves explosions if I recall correctly.
