Remakes of "Ghostbusters" and "Strangers On A Train" are in the works as well as "Bladerunner" I believe. The only way to get them to stop is to not go see this stuff.

Can't go wrong with more Ghostbusters. But Bladerunner is a classic. Movies like that shouldn't be remade and instead, just re-released in cinemas so people will go and see them.

They've run out of good ideas. What we need is Hollywood to employ children with the imagination for good movies. Take those ideas, and turn them into movies better fitted for other audiences.
Not going to work. Hollywood works on a cycle. Find something that makes money, copy it until it stops making money then find something else to make money.
There were a lot of awful movies made in the 'golden age' of cinema, but we don't remember them because only the good stuff survived. Take all the movies that came out last year against the classics of a decade and yeah, most of the recent movies suck. Take all the movies that came out in 1971 and compare them to the movies that came out in 2011. I'd say the ratio of bad and good should be pretty even.

I just hope they leave my favourite cartoons alone after what happened to Yogi.

That already makes you a way more experienced pilot than I...Oh, no... I'm not a good pilot anymore. I used to be pretty decent. But I never really was among the best.
There is this situation two or three years ago when during the Operation Overlord virtual reenaction in Il-2 1946...
But that's a long time past.
I'll share the story, but spoiler it. Not everyone's interested in hearing my old aviation stories.

A sequel to Ghost Busters or a new series focused on a team in a different city would be great. But a remake of the original that will probably be stripped of everything that made the original great, no thank you.

The Ghostbusters one could be interesting in that they plan to use a female cast this time. I'll be interested in who they cast and how it works from that take. But Bladerunner should just not be touched. "Strangers on a Train" as well. I doubt there are many directors who could do a better job than Hitchock already did. In fact we know who is involved in that. It's Ben Affleck and the director from "Gone Girl."

Since everybody is talking movies, I figured I'd say I'm going to see American Sniper tonight with a few of my classmates.
No doubt I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this movie.

That already makes you a way more experienced pilot than I...
Bah, I just had the most kills from my squadron. No big deal.
The reason I had the most was because we were fighter bombers.
And a LOT of dumb luck. The first kill, the Mosquito, just came in my sights... And wasn't even an enemy. I shouldn't count him.
The Fw-190, nobody came back, so we didn't even report that kill. Also a lot of dumb luck. Instead of taking a right turn, like the other three pilots in my flight, I took a left. That is what allowed me to live long enough to send it.
There's the situation from even earlier, during a random MP sortie, when a 109E pounced me in Battle of Britain, near Dover, and I was in a Hurricane, with a pilot I knew operating nearby on a Spitfire. When I realized there's a 109E, I immediately called for backup, but before my friend arrived, the guy was squared in my sights through some epic application of turn'n'burn. Still, more than my own skill, that kill was awarded by the lack of skill from the 109.

American Sniper...?
I read a book titled the same way. Is it about the "Devil of Rammadi", a Navy SEAL sniper? I can't remember the man's name.

I think it is about a Navy SEAL but I could be wrong. The trailer is based on what can only be the first real scene.

Hmm...yes but with one exception. In the early 70's which is when I started being taken to the movies there was a more clear delineation between top of the line A pictures and what were called B pictures. You could open a paper and find theatres showing stuff for the general public and then others showing the grindhouse or b films and some of these were simply released to the drive-ins.
I find the line more blurred now than it was then. There was a lot of crap released in 1971 but you could avoid it better as we didn't have the multiplexes so our local two theater cinemas would tend to pick the most mainstream dramas or top line action films to draw the crowds in.

It's like old buildings. People will look at them and say something like "in the old days they built to last..." Some people, maybe, but all the old buildings that weren't built to last are hardly likely to still be standing, are they? Not going to work. Hollywood works on a cycle. Find something that makes money, copy it until it stops making money then find something else to make money.

Somewhat on topic. I really, really hope Hollywood does not screw up the Avengers movies and marvel movies when Thanos steps out of the shadows.
